I have cleaned up some pretty nasty chrome with some 0000 steal wool. I wouldn't do it to nice looking chrome but to someting that just needs a scrubbing i would start with it.

  3. Go to a boat store. They will have several products that will. I used to use a product called water ducky, or some name. Stuff I worked on for a year, came off in 2 swipes.

Try useing white vineger. It is a mild acid, it will nutralize the calium left from the water.

It works best on flat chrome. Polished aluminum ...I haven't tried that yet. It works like a charm on the Harley.

There is a alumium weld cleaner....For the life of me I cann't remember the name of it. It is used when welding aircraft grade aluminum. **** looks blue like a Drano. THis stuff will clean anything off aluminum....then repolish.

Yes, It should...You need to use quite a bit as you are dissolving the calcium. Then you need to rinse with distilled water. Distilled so you dont put calcium back on.

This is why you should use the "spot free rinse" if you are at the car wash. It has no calcium in it.
