I started a project today for my friend Jimmy. It's a chopped and channeled '31 A pick up. I'm just building the frame and mounting the suspension and he'll be doing the rest. Here's the front cross member in pieces and welded up. Got the frame tubing cut and the tapers laid out today. i hope to get the tapers cut and welded in the next day or so. here's the frame as it is now. He has chopped the top on the cab and shortened the box to 30". Should be a sweet little truck. Ron
Project update...... 2"X4", 11g tubing tapered back 29" from the front cross member. Rear rail tapered 14" from kick to rear cross member with a 12" kick. Frame welded and ground. Front suspension next. Ron
just a short up date. we decided to use a '35 axel with '37 bones. the 31" spring was too wide to use a set of A spring perches so i fab'ed these up instead. should work just fine. here's the pieces one welded and ground. the other tacked. ***embled going to the rear end next. A rear spring with 4 bars. to be continued: Ron
here's a shot of the frontend, and the 4bar / A rear spring rearend with the cab sitting on the frame the truck will be going back to the owners and i'll post pics of it an the trailer.
