Well another day another time for a duece in my life. I sold it to my Dad and bought his 37 pickup. Atleast he can finish it with his pocket book and I still get to cruise  The pickup is far from picture worthy so please go easy on the criticism after torching and welding for the next 2 days I will have something to look at!

No sense in holding onto a car that's never gonna be finished.

Nice to see you appreciated what you had, but knew you wouldn't be able to do it the way a "real" 32 Ford should be treated.
I have a Buddy who was "blessed" with a real 32 5w. He worked a alot of overtime and scrimped alot, and did 90% of the work himself. He finished the car "right" and has won alot of awards for his efforts, and has the car of his dreams!

  5. You did make dad say you had first dibs on it if he was going to sell it.......

He will never sell it..If he does I am sure 50k will be out of my range seeing as a 3w will prolly bring that much easily

I'm lucky, the sad day when I lose my Dad, right in his will, it states that I am to receive all collector vehicles he has at the time of his death. I just keep trying to find stuff I like for him to buy....

I've sold off really nice stuff just for a change or being so far in the project you can't see the end for all the work you've ALREADY done............. But not many people have a REAL HOT ROD, 32 or not. But all kinds have trucks that should have fenders, without fenders to make it a "hot rod". Good luck it is just my opinion and you have done the deal already anyway.

  9. Is your Dad going to change the wheels? ;)

The '37 looks like a nice start. I like it already.

    Good for you.

Here's a thought... put that thing together, sell it and invest the money into the project WITH your dad. I can't really understand selling something to my folks.

I agree, smart move. Always good to keep it in the family. Plus i'm kinda partial to the trucks myself.

I like the pick-up, I building one similar I doubt I'll put it togehter in 2 weeks though. Man you must have slept in the garage.

  18. Did you really drive it with only three lug nuts on the front?

Looks like that "hot rod master builder" is really rubbing off.

Thats a lot of progress quick, I am building a 38 and would like to see some more pictures if you have them. Also which header is that?(probably a dumb question but would like to know what fits that motor/cab combo)

    Thanks, Alex

it has no steering, brakes, driveshaft etc...I just put it together for the car show....The motor combo came directly out of a 32 3 window so the headers wouldnt fit the truck. I cut them back near the collectors and sectioned them and shortened them.. and NO I dont drive it with 3 lug nuts smart ass

  21. it's lookin' good and the point is you will be driving it soon enough (with all of the lug nuts) it fits your budget and you like it...that's all that really counts and the good news is your Dad got what he wanted...everybody wins

  22. So I guess you just rolled it off the trailer & were sitting in it making car noises?

    Yeah, right.

Next time you zoom in to count my lugnuts put ur nosey eyes on the grill and notice there is no radiator..O but wait maybe i just made car noises and stopped every 2 minutes to add water...Smart Ass

  25. nice car ,cool project and yep .... ugly wheels

  26. If it has no radiator where are you adding water? FWIW, it'll run a lot cooler with a radiator in it.
