How long does a typical 2k primer need to set before it can be wet sanded and the paint layed down?

Check the tech sheets but most are around 12 -24 hours. If you're playing it safe, give it overnight. What are you using?

As Bill says overnight is minimum for me. I prefer a couple days to let everything shrink up a little. plus sands easier.

I agree with David, I like to let fill primer dry at least 3 days, otherwise it'll gum up the sandpaper.

Honestly, a couple weeks would be best, because it gives time for any body filler to shrink back and it'll give a nicer finished product in the end.

just what truckedup28 says, if you sand it too soon it will shrink down in the sun later...I try to let it set up at least a week, and a few dasy in the sun...I do most of my prioming with polyester, then one round on 2k style before sealing and painting...
