I rewelded the clutch arms...I noticed the levers were only welded on one side.....not neccesary, but.....what the hell ?


Got the radiator back from a clean up......



Hard to tell in this picture, but my alternator is not perfect yet...rear brace needs to be adjusted a tad....

So what I did, is cut off the ends...cut some threads...and add some rod-ends....

After doing all this...I realized it wasn't really necessary...considering it's been like that for over 40 yrs !!! :lol: :lol: I could of just welded up the grooves and sanded smooth..but anyway...It's alot better now !!!:metal:

Since my tubing bender won't be up and running anytime soon...I picked up these U-bends from my buddy....I have some old Flows and some tips, so I'm good to go on the exhaust.
My order came in from Classic, so I am good to go..I have everything I need to complete it...just need some time !!!

THE SPARK PLUG WIRES I USED ARE FROM TAYLOR...CUT TO LENGTH...AND CRIMP THE ENDS WHEREEVER YOU LIKEY !!

I orderd some taillight bezels...front engine harness'...a temp sender....a clutch rod grommet....and a new clutch rod.

Here's a couple shots of my 'Ghetto' exhaust.......
What I did here is I used the u-bends that I showed earlier...to come off the engine....but then I needed some straight pieces.
Sooooo instead of purchasing some 'exhaust' pipe from a muffler shop, I just used some 2" round tubing I had in stock......ghetto...but Heavy duty though !!! :lol:

These are some 2-chambers I had laying around...I promised them to my wife's cousin for his 69 C-10, but he never came to get them.....

These tail-pipes came off an F-150 that I had ripped out for a 4-link/air-ride job (I told the wife, this is why I save this stuff..I'll end up using it some day..10yrs later:lol: )

I got the thing fired up yesterday....here are some videos...hopefully they play for you guys....
Quite a few thing I need to finish up.....Install my breathers (buddy still paint'n)....vacuum plugs (black-hose in video)....battery tray....bleed the brakes...etc......
Overall, I'm happy that its running !!!!!

Loved the comment about your kid being 28 now. HA....for a free truck and some labor its damn nice. I do agree with the color combo though. They get lost when its flat black and red rims, make those lines pop with some cool old school color and white top maybe. Find out what it was original and go with that but hey I know money rules that option so enjoy what you have for now. Congrats and good work.
