Bo Huff/Larry Bunderson/Wolfy (yes wolfy!)

This post is about the Outkasts Custom Car Show and a few words about my friend Bo... which seems to be on the negative side in some of your heads for some reason.


So this past Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Mitchell, South Dakota boomed once more. With friend and popular Bo Huff coming along again for the fourth time (maybe 5th?)
I could only make it yesterday on Saturday. Dinner with Bo, Larry Bunderson (SICKEST pin striper I've ever met in my life hands down and he's local (Sioux Falls, S.D.) but US renoun - a guy with a old fully custom chopped/dropped ford semi truck came from wyoming to have his truck in the show and to have larry pin stripe it infront of everyone - orange and cream color - sickest semi ive ever seen! he'll be back next year by the way (both of em!) )

So I've been seeing people bash on Bo and thats the main reason I registered on this site, other than to see other great customs. This was Bo's 34th show this year SO FAR! Personally, I've been to 7 shows this year... and I thought I was going to alot! - Think Outkasts car show isnt anything special? Think again! We had customs from each coast - north and south join in on the show. Cars that are local and NEVER EVER seen by anyone at all...but the people at THAT SHOW! And alot of people seem to be that way around here. after the virgin eye balling is done to the custom, it will be shown at other shows ect.

So a couple magazines drool at his work and put him up on a pedistol... There was about 8 of us all together at Marlins RoadHouse Grill - just offo f I-90 exit and ate dinner. Bo had got us all a beer earlier before we all took off from the show. He was going to get the bill for everyones dinner.... tell me.... would you people who are bashing Bo let him pay? - well we didnt let him, we paid for his and larrys dinner. then Bo got us drunk later... I guess it was payback?? in a good way!

If you dont know who Bo Huff is then you gotta get to the shows more, he hits EVERY SINGLE MAJOr and not so major show up that he can... he has to fly to each of them - - so no cars to show.

The town bo huff lives in... is 1,800 people... small town in utah. in that small town of 1,800 people... there are 78 (give or take a few) FULL BLOWN SHOW READY CUSTOM HOT RODS. And everyone is into the scene in one form or another.

If that isnt the dream life and way of living for a super star customizer.... then you need to go shoot yourself - THAT WOULD BE A B*T*H*N DREAM COME TRUE FOR ME BUDDY!


Well anyways - wolfy (the voice we all know if you dont know who wolfy is.. look him up and watch some old movies - his voice is known world wide!) larry, and bo made the show a great one. there was Garage tours 8ish to noonish - car show from noonish to 6pm down the main drag by the corn palace, and then a big gathering and 50's dance from 7-8ish to when everyone was to drunk to move and passed out.

anyways - when i get pictures back from the show, ill make a new thread for coverage of it - MANY MANY pictures! a few flame throwin customs and even a smoker videos... will be hard to track down the videos though

my friends and i have admired bo for years - some of us ... for over 20 years.. this guy isnt a new guy to the scene... he's one of the founders - he is friends with all the founders of the whole hot rod customs scene. no one hates him unless their jealous.

Woo hoo!! You should read the rules, give us an intro, then blow off your steam.

 

Bo's a great guy but there are those that don't know him and really have never heard his name till OSR started featuring his cars and work. Just a shame that it had to be that mag instead of a more repected one.

That's what I was thinking...

That would help a little...

My thought about "a new age custom" is that my 90 Nissan HardBody pickup is 2 years from becoming a classic... If I get bashed on because I roll in a newer vehicle... then so be it... in 20 years... all the people that you bash with new age customs... well we can do something like... forget the past. It's 2008 and building a custom mini truck is just as much work as building a hot rod from a different era.

Anyway, I'm into customs, paint, pin striping, metal work, air bagged vehicles of all sorts, and I'm a car/truck guy and I love what I do for a hobby... Build Mini Trucks.

I know Bo too,and yes he is a nice guy! BUT!!!! I don't care for his cars....
