We went to support Faith in her film Deuce of Spades on Saturday. She was filming the Saugus Drag strip flashback scene and needed old cars to fill in. I brought two cars and we had a blast. Who knows, maybe the cars will be in the film....

Early morning, just after sun up. waiting for the gate to be unlocked...

Staged and waiting for instructions on where to put the cars.

I was paired up with this truck for a drag race scene. Nice guy and nice truck (sorry I've forgotten your name)

I brought the 36 cabriolet and the 32 roadster.

Me (in HAMB shirt) and friends Doug and Rob

Faith is getting everyone squared away.

Is that really the rules of tech week? I thought it was just a call to get more stuff that is technical in nature. Are we not supposed to post somthing if it is not a "tech" post?

You can post no other threads on the HAMB... no event coverage, no build diaries, no opinion threads?

I am by no means trying to start anything, I just what to know if I am right.

Looks like they all had a great time! Only tech problem is that back at Saugas in that time frame, there were NO RAT RODS, Guess I'm just gettin' old & not appreciating all this new car culture!---BUT, I have all my many memories of the way it really was back in the late 40's & early 50's!
Wishing the gal all the luck that is producing the movie, especially on her tight budget that I have been following since she started.------------Don

Wish I could have been there. A little too far away and my car is one year too new. I've been watching the Deuce of Spades threads, its shaping up to be my favorite car movie. Can't wait for it to come out.

  9. Geez am I envious or what...!!

Looks like ya'all had a blast - ya might even get your ride in the next great HOT ROD film to hit the screens !!

Way to go to all you cats for helpin out Faith on this journey of hers. What hot roddins all about imo.

Thanks for sharing. Looked like a blast.

  12. Thanks for posting.

I don't see any probs posting during tech week.

More than a few non-tech posts coming in anyway.

As for the very low green RPU, 77 Sunset Strip had more than a few wanna-bee clones and there was always a guy who wanted to and did go low to blow everybody away.
Not many of these back in the day, but I saw a few very low ones although the green RPU would have been the winner here.
More than likely because a very low early, axle style car was beyond the building capabilities of most.

Geez, high tech to us was a guy who owned an arc welder....

Looks like alot of fun. Wish I lived closer to join in.

As far as tech week goes, just no O/T stuff, AKA dog dying, ebay, ranting, whatever, just on topic hot rod and custom stuff.

    Why yes, it is!

Here's another picture of the '40, which was really nice and running a nicely detailed warm flattie:

There was one actual dragster -- an old, short slingshot with a 6-carb SBC in it. I didn't think to photograph it.
