I just finished building this hood for Tony Vidas 29 roadster today. Thought you guys might like to see it. Is probably going to get painted but I polished it anyway.

I love It, I was going to get a hood and decklid chromed for my next coupe but I like polised aluminum better thanks for the Idea Turned out great also.
I love the polished hood, it would be a shame to paint it. Do you happen to have any pics of the build? I'm interested in how you rolled the edge and the hindge.
Wow that does look good, Id be worried about sun glare hough! But hell, with it looking so good Id drive it anywaY!!
the hindge is a .063 aluminum piano hindge from msc industrial supply. here are the only other pics I have of the wired edge, rolled with a dolly and hammer. and vice grips with duct tape over the jaws

That is beautiful. If it were mine it would stay polished to show off your work. I really like the row ow rivets holding the hinge. Spectactular. chuck
I appericate the information. I'm gonna have to try that edge treatment when I attempt to build a bomber style seat.
A little different from the norm..................and that's good. Excellent build, thanks for sharing. Frank
Looks great Matt! I'd vote for no paint on that as well. The bare metal looks really sweet with the black.
Add a couple more pics and some instructions and you might be in the running for the Tech week prize! Nice work on the hood, I will definitely be bookmarking this one for later use.
