I'm not really a newbie - I've been lurking around here on & off, but now I thought I'd make a post. I've been building bikes for several years (hence the screen name), and decided now it's time to get back into cars. I'm on the hunt for a good cheap hot rod project. This is a great site!
Lots of great HAMBERS from up that way .....Welcome from the lower end of the Fox Cities.... Louver Dude
Welcome. We have a nice group started around here. I am in Neenah, my shop is in Oshkosh. I do custom exhaust and some light restoration along with repair and sales. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask myself, Louverdude, Rob Paul, Fiddyfour, Carguy, Squablow or any of the other guys around this neck of the woods. Welcome aboard Don't forget about our new traditional show next year. www.symcoshakedown.com Later Mike
Thanks for the welcomes. I have a question for you fellow Cheeseheads - have any of you run into problems with the police for equipment violations such as lack of fenders, bumpers, etc? I'm trying to be proactive in what I build.
Im in GB too. East side. Let me know if need something, Ive got plenty or rusty junk. As far as the cops go, Just build it safe, and not too loud, and they wont screw with you. ROB
Hey Rob. What kind of stuff do you have? I'd like to find an early '30s car or truck, preferably with a roof that can be chopped.
Greetings from another fox cities HAMBer. Like Rob said, don't build it ****py or too loud and you should not have any issues with the po-po. I have neither fenders nor bumpers and have yet to get h***led. Getting Hobbyist registration also makes it less likely to get messed with (or so I've heard).
