    i am only 23 haha 12 -14- 84.

well i forgot all about the corners and wanted to get the outer "frame" done. well that also turned into another project of me not liking the body line going down the center of the hood. what else is new.so to the 53 parts caddillac i went .... the 49 was to lets say broad i wanted a more crisp and subtle line so i went with the body line off the side of the fender
plus the orig. body line in the 49 was as crooked as a dogs leg.

    finished welding it up

probably way to particular about stupid body lines but what are ya gonna do

Something about this picture reminded me of the Barris "Blue Danube" Buick (photo courtesy Rikster!)

Your Pontiac is so choice. It reminds me of Cleatus' Chevy in that everytime you touch it - it just gets better.

thanks for the photo shop they are def gonna get rounded.

and for the buick i think its in the hood which makes em look the same . haha and i cant complain about the pontiac being compared to it !!!!

next decision run the body line down the whole hood .. end it somewhere in the front ..or run it into a piece of stainess trim off the 53 caddy... decisions decisions haha!

I didn't wanna chime in seeing as this is the first time I've gone through this post, but I have to. I say def continue it into the upper lip. Not only does it compliment the peak on each side, but it keeps you from abruptly dropping out a line. Something that I try never to do.

Overall though, this thing is killer. Lots and lots of work for subtle changes that aid the flow. This car is going to look dynamite and no one will know why.

So what would a 4-1/2 cutoff wheel look like as a radius for the corners of the hood? I have no idea how it would look on the proportions of the hood, but it worked great on the doors!

time for more body line off the 53 caddy fender
just some mock up tacked it where i wanted it put the relief cuts in to make the curve and just cut along the edge with the cut off wheel.

really dig the profile the body line has.. nice and tight compared to what was stock on a 49 caddy.
crazy thing was how the body line was very crooked on the 49 caddy just though it got screwed up while it was laying around.. i saw a 49 caddy at carlisle same curvy body line.

the metal pretty much told ya where it wanted cut i tacked the bottom and started with the first cut and it was all smooth sailing from there . never cut the metal all the way through on the edges even though it looks that way i didnt want to have the problem of getting it all straight again .. i bet that would be a pain in the ass. all for now im off to hershey to look for a 51 ford dash!!
