tired of tripping over the floor jack handle, use an old bunge cord to hold the handle up when not in use. It also make using the jack one handed or with your foot eazier. jim h
Also consider using rollbar padding on the handle to protect anything it might come i contact with including your head! Reduces banged fenders etc. Wrap the pading with duct tape to keep it there.
Ya know, in the cold winters up here its a good place (jack handle) to hang your coat when the shop warms up.
My racing jack stays up with no problems like thrasher's, I put it in the upright position twist the handle on the load position and it stays put. CRUISER
I've had the same floor jack since 1982, a Sears one, green with the white handle, on sale then for $99. I use a piece of pipe insulation on the handle too when I have to work on a NICE car. My secret to the handle spring still working is, don't let anyone play with it or use it for a scooter. I also give it a shot of grease a few times a year which keeps it happy. Bob
Hey mine's a 99 buck sears, too! I got it maybe 30 years ago. Mine used to be silver, now it's too grungy to tell. It looks like an old jack. It quit working last spring, when I pump the handle, it just make a phhht sound like the pressure is internally leaking. Is there a seal kit or something that I can get to fix it? I hate to throw it out, I imagine the new ones are all dog ****. Thanks, Bill
i lied... still got heat, just gotta earn it now cause its wood not gas. been livin' dude. wisconsin sure did change with the times tho! miss the house in MN, but dig the new shop
I had trouble with an old jack and took it to a tractor repair place , their hydraulic dude fixed it with seals he had just layig around, really inexpensive too.
