  2. I want one foot on top of each one, fire em both off and ride down the track like muthf-fing Ben Hur!!!! Either one would be a dream come true, but then again I'm actually really partial to gassers myself....

Hey Rocky, what's up. Saw your Vega at FCR 2007, it is way cool. I was going to say hi, but you were chatting with Bruce Larson, so I figured there was not much I was going to add to that conversation.

I hate to say it, but I put the front stub back on, I could barely get the car down the track when it was shortened. Maybe see you next summer. Take care. John K.

Me too, always wanted a front engine dragstar. A project in our club the Flukes have a chassis and a diff, just need to get a few more parts.
By the way Flukes stands for
    F - f%%king
    L - lunatics
    U - using
    K - killer
    E - engines

    FED... it might be safer.

    Altered... you:

    1) Go straight
    2) Crash
    3) Blow up

That photo of Nanook with all for wheels off the ground pretty much sums up my fears.

btw: posted from Shenzhen, China. Reading HAMB keeps me from going friggin' insane here.

  14. We have a winner! Me too, but in an A40 gasser for me!!
As for the rail or altered? Hmm, dont matter so long as I got to drive!!

I used to run a little 120" W.B. FED in the early 80's with a carbed SBC/Powerglide/57' Pont rear. 9.23 @ 146 quarter mile. Needed wheelie bars to keep the front end down, but ran like it was on a string. I'd love to have another, maybe 150" W.B. So, FRONT ENGINE DRAGSTER, hands down! Butch/56sedandelivery.

Already done an FED so an Altered one of these days. I still have all my fuel injection stuff from the FED. Just need a steady job. :(

  18. Everyone has their dreams.

Drove a 12 second flathead fueler FED once.
Was fun, but didn't have enough power to go anyways but straight....

My thoughts are a 29 highboy roadster, somewhat narrowed rear axle - so the outer side of the slicks sit about where a street highboys tire outer side would - little brothers 1040 HP DRCE engine W/Lenco.

If I'm gonna sail over to the other side via a heart attack, this is what I want to do it in....

That's what I wanna run..... a relatively short FED.....but one with direct drive, set tight, so it'll SMOKE 'EM all the way down the track!:D

I could never afford to build a full tilt, blown dragster, but maybe a Jr. Fueler.......someday. Before I DIE, I plan on driving a FED, and not one of these 2008 NHRA legal jobbies either.....

An Altered. I`ve had a FED back when they were still popular as a gas dragster. But can`t wait till my Falcon gasser is done. Gasserman

  21. FED in the morning at Shannonville Motorsports Park on their nostalgia weekend. The ONDR will be out in full force as well.
And not all FED are too long. Mine is 96 inch wheelbase
