I noticed that there is often quite a few requests for Photoshop work, and as a Photoshop hobbyist myself, I thought it might be a good idea to have a dedicated thread, for those who use the program to show off their work, and for those who want to see their car with different wheels, frenched lights, or a roof chop, to post their requests.

I'll get the ball rolling. Here is a quick 10min effort I did to see how a Cortina similar to my own would look with some old style wheels, hupcaps, and whitewalls. It's also slammed, shaved, had some badges removed, and I also centred the doorline with the B pillar, a minor detail which kind of bugs me with this car, but can't realisitcally be helped.

Beware, it's not a typical HAMB car, but it's not totally left of field.

Very nice. If you don't mind me saying it could use a slight shadow under the fender lips
just over the white walls and the hubcaps would look better if the relections were flipped 180. Perfect for a 10 minute sketch though. Whats cool about photoshop is its a super useful design tool for building cars. I'll try to post some work I did.

I agree, a bit of shading would aid the realism. But as I said, it was just a quick effort to see what it would look like. It's not quite the style of wheel I'm after, but believe it or not I couldn't find a good picture of any without hubcaps on that profile angle.

It is great for building cars. Sometimes it's just finding a decent image to work from that is a pain in the ass! :D

Here's one I did. I forgot who owns this Mercury, but I thought it was perfect.
I stole it from here. I think they're a Hamber. I didn't take the shot of Merle's either, I found that on the web.

That is a major improvement. How about explaining how to do something like that?

I agree, thats about 80-90% of what makes things look right.
The one I did took a while, I even tweaked it a bit before posting.

    Nice work!! fiftyfiveford

No worries guys, those look pretty cool! Though I have actually seen a Cortina like that with a roof chop, and it looks terrible! Looks a bit more in proportion being channelled though. I like the unchopped but slammed look. There's something kind of cool about something that borders on being strange looking, or sickeningly out of proportion.

The two door conversion reminds me of another chop I did a while ago, this time of a Cortina Estate/Wagon.

I made it into a bit of a panel van, panelled up the rear windows, converted it to two door, even went totally realistic and lengthened the door as a real two door would have, and did the other side/interior of the car to match. As it was the window on the other side was smaller, hence it looked unrealistic. It was quite tricky to get it looking decent, especially the gutter along hte top of the car. I'd like one like that one day to be used as a daily driver - plenty of space in the back for tools etc, among other things. ;)

Anotehr thing I could have done was radiused the lower rear edge of the door, which might look quite cool, but I'm not sure that curve would really fit with the overall squareness of the car.

    Photoshop request...

Can someone paint this Rambler with photoshop?

would like to see it 55 Chevy coral and Shadow grey 2-tone.
Shadow grey around windows and the rest coral..I was going to do a woodgrain around the windows (think country squire) but shadow grey and maybe a darker gray woodgrain in there?

The other scenerio was having the roof only grey and the rest coral.

Heres a 55 with the colors for example..

I was going to leave the steel rims and little caps..All the trim that on now stays on.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you!

Great kickoff, the need for a thread like this is certainly there. I'm trying to learn computer editing (no money for actual PS) and pencil drawing cars at the same time, so these threads and the weekly art shows are my favourite hangouts. Shameless plug, here is the photoshop dreams thread I've tried to keep going (Cheers Lono, James D and all the names I forgot!)

    Thanks guys!

    Any other color suggestions??????

  23. Someone should make a 17" Rostyle wheel for these. They aren´t bad looking cars, but the shirt button wheels always look a bit silly.

I think something along the lines of the Hirohata paint scheme would hit the spot. Dark Blue on the pillars and a seafoam green on the body and roof. Sorry I can't get a good photoshop done for you. But I'm sure someone can.

That's a good look. I'm used to seeing minilites on that style of car, but then again I do like the look of minilites!

maybe someone could help me with my 2 tone idea. I only have windows paint, and it was a great help in sorting out the build of this truck, but any color change turns out flat with no depth.
You can see on the one shot where I tried...

I would like to see what the 4 different combos would look like:
2 with the bottom half and roof, and 2 just half and half.
I want to do hugger(highway) orange and white.
I painted on a rudimentery key of the 4 different combos I would like to see.
