Well it's been 7 long years and today we finally made a couple p***es down the 1320. We were there just for "drivers ed" and to learn what we could about the entire process. We walked away with 3 checklists. Trailer, Tools, Car First p*** 11.02 @ 113 - just blipped the throttle 3 or 4 times. Second p*** 9.92 @ 123 - blipped the throttle only twice this time. No burnouts - nothing serious - just trying to learn how these things handle and get my head in the game. What a FREAKIN' RUSH................to be continued P.S. A HUGE thanks to everyone at the track - EVERYONE I mean EVERYONE was awesome to us. Thanks guys!
Don (Rebel Reaper) snapped a bunch - I hope he got some good ones!!! We'll get some posted............ EDIT: actually I just found out that Don was shooting Video - even better.
It was great to see you fullfill a dream today...........I have watched this project from its start.........One hell of a job.......Dave..........more proof that the backyard builder is King...
Dave, Thanks for making it out today - I know you were a bit under the weather, it was nice that you made it out. The only thing that would have made the day better was that another local FED was also there making their debut - unfortunately they had some trans issues which prevented us from making some side by side runs ;-( We'll get out again!!!!! All this excitement - I have 2 questions: #1 How will I possibly sleep tonight???? Who cares - I Know. #2 How could people possibly play golf when there's so many Hot Rods to be built??? ha ha ha
#1.......lots of beer and drunk dialing your pals til 1 am since you are so pumped! #2 Go golf and drink lots of beer and tell your other 3 partners so much about the car that they never invite you to golf again!!!!
I just found out that Don wasn't taking PICTURES he was strictly shooting VIDEO! Even better!!!!!! Until we figure out how to post it - here's an OLD Youtube I posted earlier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNGZfgkBPyM
I can only imagine how exciting that was for you....hell, I was excited and really had nothing to do with the whole process. Congrats on a great first time out. I see nothing but good things that can happen with that rail. It looked at home on the track. I will try to post some videos........not to computor savy....Don
jacin: Your already quicker and faster than me in the Scorpion 1. I'm so glad you finely got to make a p***. It looked good and sraight. That was a good thing to do on a week end when we can't go to Bakersfield. dwrfab Don Ross
Excellent. Now keep going until you get the feel and learn how the car is running and get it dialed in. Congratulations on getting that first ride down the quarter.
Congratulations on your first p*** in a FED. After about 15 or so p***es you will realize that other things are going on outside the car. Take a look at the radius rods (if you can see them) on a hard p*** at about the 1000 ft. mark. It will either scare the $hit out of you or put a big smile on your face. Also get prepared for getting your lights turned out with your eyes wide open from violent tire shake. They will also make some strange moves sometimes and make you wonder where the hell did that come from. Enjoy every p*** like it's your last one. Have fun, respect it and stay safe. BTW, nice looking digger, love the 92 408 AA/D
Great stuff! You're an inspiration for my car . . . also running a good ole' 92. I noticed you are in Cleveland - we'll have to get together some time, I'm in Columbus. Dale
