The cars today have no character; those there are some real race cars! Thanks for sharing.
I fulfilled a lifelong dream of going to the March meet in '01. My Dad was on his deathbed, and I told him I'd stay with him, he said, "Go", he loved drag racing so much. He got my brother and I started, worked on our cars with and for us, towed us to the track, etc. He was one of a kind.
Looks like we'll have to make that meet next year.

For me, the Hustler was the star of the cackelfest by a mile. It was the last of the 60 fuelers to push down the fire up road and lite off. Man, did Art have it set on KILL!!! From the eye rot, I'd say he had at least 80% in the tank. The old warrior has never sounded better, and Art showed it no mercy on the throttle. Those weed sweepers bouncing the sound off the concrete guard rail sounded like thunder. Everytime he whacked the throttle, you could feel the thump in your chest. That the oldest fueler in the show, put on the best show, made this old fart feel warm inside. :D

We got The Hummer up there just fine , I would have loved to make a p*** now it's all fixed
Dean we were with Art when he prepped the Hustler for the cackle & it was LOADED ("very high percentage but I aint tellin" ;) ) huge Moon tank too full to overflowing ! , he goes for it big time , what a cool Dude.
Thanks for posting the photos , excellent coverage.
Show was huge & packed with people/cars , all in all a good sign.
