I posted a picture on some post a few days ago of a cherry 57 chev 210. six cylinder, three speed. the customer told me he was pulling it that night and replacing it with a 327 small block. I had to ask "What cha gonna do with it" make a long story short I have a very nice 235 and three speed sitting on my shop floor. probably going to sit it next to my rebuilt (free) 223 ford six with the 3 speed and a Hurst shifter some times I even embarrass myself with all the stuff that falls in my path
That's too bad, for him anyway, he just drove the value of that rare '57 into the dirt... Probably a good thing for you tho...ya just can't kill them original '57 sixes!!! R-
No luck involved its a practiced skill that has taken 60+ years to develop . The bad part is I come up with all these deals then whorde them till I run out of space then I have to pay people to haul shit away.
dude he has had the car for sale for 4 years and no one would give him the 7500 he was asking because it was a six cylinder car so he's dropping in a V-8 and doubling the price and I'll bet he gets it . it is that nice of car. I now have two 57 235's I'm leaving this one stock and building the other. or maybe I'll build one of the 292's. or one of the three plymouth flat six's. or the 265,283,327 small blocks or the two 331 cads. the 317 lincoln. the dodge, desoto or chrysler Hemi's couple of nailheads there too, or the buick and pontiac straight 8's. those little 300 and 310 buicks are cool, its a curse I tell you. I keep getting rid of stuff and two come back for every one I get rid of

You win I win, and rodding is better for the experience Cheers, and great score, Drewfus

I cannot sell my Pontiac for $6900 because it has a straight 6. Everyone gets real excited when they see it,they love the car. The second I say inline 6, they walk away.
this is an oportunity for you to do a good hamb deed and pass that engine on to actiongirl who was hurting for a good engine for for Faye...her Chevy since you have no need and no greed...she could could use the favor....and a little good luck...fatchuk
Jim, that '57 in the pic above is actually a "150" model, a little rarer than the 210, and Belair's...
[ QUOTE ] Jim, that '57 in the pic above is actually a "150" model, a little rarer than the 210, and Belair's... [/ QUOTE ] I know. That's why it would have been a perfect start for some of these 'shine runner/muscle car fans here in the Southeast to make it into a "Black Widow" clone. I know some big $$ muscle fans down here. For many that might be stupid $$ but for some of the other guys with deep pockets, 12K is nothing for a solid Tri-5 project with bucket loads of potential. I watched a buddy pay over 40K for a '55 two door sedan (not a Bel Air) last spring. That is absolutely stupid $$ I know but the point is that it brought it. Dog dish caps, blackwall bias tires, 283, stock silver guts, and the slickest black paint I've ever seen (honest) just made it a stunner. If the car pictured above was as nice as it looks and solid, I think it was dirt cheap at $7500. As for the Pontiac, it is a cool car and I like it, but it probably wouldn't appeal to the same crowd as the '57. JH
[ QUOTE ] Drewfus are you going to stop by and pick them up or do I have to deliver? [/ QUOTE ] Since I'd DEARLY love to have one of those (especially that Chrysler firepower & mag) in my little 28 RPU, I'd come and pick it up......Yes I do live in Australia, but for that, I'd come for a drive....will be coming to your fine country next August(2005) to trip to Bonneville & HAMB drags III, a few more days in a vehicle doesn't phase me..... Cheers, Drewfus
What the??? Inline 6 or not, I'd pay what your asking for that. What a kewl ride. Cheers and beers, Jimbob
the dude shoulda sold that one and bought one WITH a dman V8 already in it i mean theres 5 billion farkin V8 tri 5 son the road and maybe a handful original 6 banger ones left.that 327 swap just chaps my ass man
brain fart I knew it was a 150 just typed in 210. the car didn't need a thing and drove very nice with the six. he actually wanted to save the engine and trans just in case some one wanted to put it back to original condition, he hated to break it up. but I and others told him that no one would ever put a six back after it had been swapped for a V-8 and the thought of storing the motor and keeping it good condition. He decided to let me have it. He has the car in the paint shop now without a motor and they are going to strip it down to bare metal and paint it inside and out the original color(not black and white) and drop in a fresh built large journal 327 and he's taking the car back to Texas and will be asking 15 grand
