[FONT=Verdana,Arial]Kurtis INDY CAR, KK 2000 - Serial Number 326 Purchased new by Milt Marion. Driven by Sam Hanks in the 1949 Indy Race. Driven by Neil Carter at Del Mar in 1949. Driven by Bill Holland in the 1949 Sacramento Race. The engine is the original Horning GMC 270 cu. In. with 12 port iron head. The engine was developed for the Don-Lee Bonneville Streamliner and later for this Indy car. The front end of the motor and ancillary drives are the original roller cam developed by Chet Herbert. I couldn't get the whole car. as you can see the garage it's in is quite crowed, and there is snow on the ground this morning here (damn!), so we didn't roll it out. here's the car last (?) summer.
yes that's a Jawa speedway bike, which i hope is mine someday. it shares the garage with the Indy car and a '32 roadster.
Nice car, but why the Pep Boys radiator cap and modern hose clamp? Something this original and rare should not have this sort of thing on it.
