Long weekend. What did you get done??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tugmaster, Oct 13, 2008.

  1. Some of us were luckey enough to have a 3 day weekend:) The weather was perfect for a change also.
I did a post a while ago on weather or not I should run a fan shroud on my 50 Sedan. I figured I might as well do it so I don't have to worry about it running hot and having to deal with it later. Last friday I sheared up some 18 guage at work and this weekend I went to work on it. I cut the inner circle out with my friends plasma cutter.( I gotta get me one of these!!) I looks kind of bulky now but I think once I slap a coat of paint on it it will look more like it belongs. Went driving around on dirt roads looking for old cars and tractors. Found a complete 34 FORD COUPE, Almost everything was there except for the "body". The guy said I could have all I have to do is cut down some trees around it and pull the flathead out and give it back to him. Now I have something to do this weekend and I am going to try contacting the guy that took the body. So I had a good weekend besides getting chased by a rot at one persons house that I stopped at.

  16. Had our annual re-union from back in the late 60s. A group of about 40 of us that got together every weekend. Some of whom were rodders like myself. This photo is only about 1/4 of the total group. Many didn't make it up from Fla or NC this year, others didn't make it from Saturday night. This was a Sunday morning breakfast so we are not all looking our best.

  26. I put together the lower end of my 327, did some grinding on the rear fender opening areas. Changed out the oil cooler lines on my '96 4WD Chevy, don't have any desire to do that again.

Weld, hammer, grind. Repeat. This chop on my shoebox is really testing me! Almost there. All I got left is the driver's sail panel and the 1/4 window corners...only taken me the better part of 6 weeks.

Went on a fall cruise co hosted with our car club ( Pair A Dice cruisers ) and the Minnesota GTO club. Drove from Red Wing MN through SW Wisconsin and ended up 200 great and scenic miles later in Rochester Mn . There were 35 cars total from both clubs.
Bought a set of dog dish 64 Galixcey police hub caps for my 62 Falcon.
And moved our youngest daughter to a town house in Brooklyn Center.

yes Mrs Jalopy and I are officially now empty nesters.
