Left Omaha Fri. 8am on a perfect day for a roadrtip with Malcolm, Rob Lee and his son Robby, Junkboy and his very cool wife Lisa ( so glad these two made the trip with us, a great couple ) Got to Ottawa checked into the motel, ate and headed out to Morris cruised through the Holiday Inn and talk with a bunch of old friends for a while then headed to downtown. The Red Cent is a pretty cool bar and Friday nite had a good crowd The pizza shop down the street is excellent (Ate there both nites )Hung out with Denise ( always a good time ) and Bobwop ( Nice to meet you )most the nite. Got to the Pile-up bout 9am Sat. waited a short while to get in and Louvre Dude directed us to a great spot in the trees. Can't believe how well managed and organized this show is. A big thanks to the Chrome Czars, Catherine and all the volunteers and Denise for organizing the Meet and Greet all your efforts made it a great weekend. To say the least is was a blast. Perfect weather great cars and some very cool people. Finally met Rashy, also Slammed, Bobwop, Runaroundsue and Mercdeuceman got to see wingnuts, GLMarkie, and Todd and Shana again and a bunch of others, all great people. The best part was getting to see Pete from the Rumblejetts who is doing some work in Chicago and came down just to check out the show. The worst part was not getting to see and talk with Megan ( chevyroxgirl ) as she had to be in Hershy. Missed ya doll.
Made it back to Omaha with no problems except the 150mph cross winds........ok maybe it was only 30-40 mph but still ****ed and Rob Lee had some engine problems but is home now. Already thinking about next year, love this show. Heres a few pic's. Gary

That Green 32 five window looks tasty (but it's hard to see it around all that stuff) I 'm sure it's out of my price range! Thanks for posting!

Gary, it was nice to meet you and Malcolm. But my real pleasure was to finally meet Denise. That young lady is certainly a peach. Someone is really missing out not to have that sweet, cute, hot rod gal, cookie makin' young lady hooked.

Had a great time this weekend, Gary! I'm already looking forward to the next roadtrip - how 'bout Day of the Drags in Texas next weekend? :D

    Thanks for the photos...

These were my two favorites hot rods at the show - damn cool!

    Gary,

Nice pictures, thanks! Good to see you again too.

You must have made good time getting home, you practically beat me and I'm less than three hours away! (But we did get side tracked a couple of times.)

Glad we got to meet you. Reeeeaaaaally like your car, but I've been a bubble fan for a long time

40k was the asking price. It had a few issue's but overall a nice deuce. I think the owner said it was built in the 60's and is virtually untouched

Uuuhhh, hmmm, Think I'll let her answer that one. She is certainly a peach though. Nice to meet you

It was a good time, always a blast doing roadtrips with you. I'm with on your 2 favorites, both great cars. Day of the Drags........ ??????? hmmmmm

We didn't waste any time. The crosswinds were an absolute wearout and I lost a hubcap somewhere, anyone find a 40 cap somewhere between Ottawa and Omaha ???

Well glad that you guys made it home safe. It was great seeing the Omaha boys again.

Gary and Malcolm: why not join the fun @GG-Beech Bend. I need a pit crew for the 56 G***er. At least a cheering section.

thanks for the pics, post, and for being friends with Denise. She sure picks some good ones.

That was some good pizza Friday night!

That's sounding like a plan. Especially because rumor has it, it's a two-day show.

Not sure if I'll make it in a hot rod though. Might have to fly in again...

    PILEUP RULES......BREEDER DRUELS.....:)

  25. Good to see you Gary... and Malcolm... Dig it!

The only thing about the Pileup that stinks for me is that I hardly get to talk to anyone... but that's ok.. it's "our turn" for that

We get to go to shows all summer that other folks toil at and we get to have fun... we all take turns

Mark, wanted to have time to talk with you some more, but lost track of you after the meet and greet.
We did get into some wind on the way home, but it didn't rain and it wasn't cold so I probably shouldn't complain. It's bout 400 miles one way. After all the running back and forth up there (Stayed in Ottawa) clicked off a little over 900 miles on the roadster.
