Does anybody sell or repop Sombrero hub caps

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by oddrodgarage, Oct 13, 2008.

  1. After seeing a photoshop rendition of my 54 plymouth wagon (by JamesD) with Sombrero hubcaps and wide whites I want to explore the option of running those...Does anybody know if they are being repopped?

OK, here's a stupid question for the Caddy experts:

Was there ever a Cad Sombrero hub cap for 16" wheels? I've never seen any do***entation or written evidence of their existence, but I've seen a car that sported Sombreros on sixteens. And yes, it looked like a good fit.

    Sorry for the thread hijack...

Back in the fifties,we would cut the mounting hub off the back of sombrero and just sheet metal screw them to our 16's.Probably not what you wanted to know however!

Yes, there are 16" sombreros. Some of the commercial models or limos did have them (someone, please correct me if Im wrong...) and I think they are available as re-pops from Bill Hirsh.
