Hey man, if you like it- you like it, don't let other people bother you. There are a lot of different stlyes out there, and no one is going to like everything, so just do what you like and don't worry about what people say.

    I think it's cool.

And looks like he nosed, decked and shaved the door handles! so it's at least a mild custom

But why leave the key holes?

i don't know what it looked like when you started but it looks good to me. IMO I think you should put some type of side chrome on it, 55 pontiac or 56 customline shortened & mounted a little lower. Maybe 60 buick tail lenses or Merc wagon units. lower it more.

    Have fun with it.

Thanks Link, GotGas, Strange and Rich. I appreciate that. And you guys are right. I built the car for what i like, I don't really give a **** what people think about it. Just thought i would throw it up and see what ya'll thought of it. Now I see there are guys here who just like to be asses, and not give constructive critisism, just bust your balls.

  15. Keep it suede if you like it.... but remember that metal flake IS the new flat black, as a czar once said :)

I like the shiney one. You asked.

  17. I didn't say I didn't like your Ford. I asked if you were gonna paint it. I don't care, rub shit on it, if that trips your trigger. If you want to call us pricks, spell pricks right. FWIW, your little 2 door would be tits with paint. Now, it's just another flat black car in a sea of flat black cars. Don't get you pompador out of joint, kid.

I think it looks killer, like some others have said it's your car and you built it the way you like, isn't that what hot rodding is all about.

  21. No. Hot rodding is a very structured thing. Building what you want is good, but it's NOT what hot rodding is about. You're talking about an Art Car, 55fordwagon... You know, like a Yugo with AstroTurf and a flag that says 19th hole, or sumpin'.

  22. Other then the WWW that is what we saw cruising the streets in the mid 60s but they wore coats of paint. No one wanted what they had worked on to fade from the sun, streak from anything that dripped on it, have to touch it up constantly. Primer was used for spot repair and modifications. It was your A typical cruiser with mild custom tricks gotten from the mags or friends. Usually low buck builds.
I had a number of cars like it. I think it nice as a cruiser goes but would be surprisingly nicer with paint on it. They look great in metallic blue. Or, if the body work isn't great, white or a mint green.
Something along the side as mentioned would make a nice car into a NICE car.

Hot rodding is very structured, if you can't think for yourself. Building what you like is Hot rodding, and even more so in Kustoms. If you just want to follow the crowd, get yourself a glass rod, a gold chain, and a lawn chair.

For what it's worth, I still like flat (and suede) black no matter what anyone says. Sure it doesn't look good on ALL cars, and everyone seems to be putting it on ALL cars... but on yours it looks GOOD. Don't change it and don't care what the naysayers say about it.

Just as easy as everyone jumps on the bandwagon and starts painting cars all the same color... the haters all jump on the bandwagon and start hatin' together too. One is just as lame as the other. It just so happens that your car is a classic, and not a mini truck in flat black, and it looks good.

Do your own thang brother. :D

  25. When STUPID people think for themselves the result is the rat rods in Ol' Stoolz Ratz Rodz. At my age I am entitled to my lawn chair. You are cordially invited to shit in your hat.

Some people get very touchey when you get to close to the truth...and I don't wear hats, because I still have hair. :D

  28. Then you are cordially invited to shit on your bare, empty head. I hear that it'll make your pomp stand taller. Morons like you cause morons like me to NEVER sell cars or parts to poopbutt asshats like you.
