Anyone ever hot rod a 60's GMC V6 or V12?

    Bad idea, way heavy, no performance parts factory or aftermarket. These were serious truck engines that were designed for low speed torque. Translation: not any good for a hot rod engine.

    Just get the valve covers and hang them on your wall, they look cool.

    I agree. I saw a GMC p/u in a junk yard years ago with red plaid valve covers. I have kicked myself since for not getting them for wall hangers.

    SHIT..My dad drove a 1963 GMC pickup truck,for so long,that you could throw a cat thru the rusty hulk,and NOT hurt the cat....
    It was SO RUSTY...you could open the doors,and WALK thru the cab.Just step over the frame rails and the drive shaft.....
    Fuckin' engine still ran like a eight day clock......Wish I woulda kept those scotch plaid valve covers.

    yeah.. they're heavy, low hp and lots of torque..but.... so what!

    build it and they will come.. havent you guys ever heard of the blastolene brothers?
    check out what they are using for engines
