Hi MD....yes...it's an R8 but I've traded it for a restored R10. Renaults are interesting, and power a few of my cars from the early 1960's. As for Gordini's, I have had two R8 1134's, but sold them, and now own a Rally 1135 R8. Here's a great short video on R8 Gordinis. Check it out:

Hi Tinman...checkout the vintage pix of the transporter that I posted. I think they may turn out to by the US Indy Mags - check them out and let me know what you think. Thanks :)

Here's a recent article on the silver car called a "Covington Tiburon". See attached. I have more information if you are interested.

    Yes..

I found the last Ultravan ever made - #558. The last 30 or so were watercooled Chevy 302's (I believe) with Corvette independent rear suspension. Quite an improvement over the corvair power (in my humble opinion...). I recently sold it to a friend in Tampa, and bought another one which has a replacment for the Corvair engine - a 455 Olds and transaxle. Quite a runner. Fastest RV in town...

    Hope you enjoy..

    Hi IBB41...

I have found 3 magazines with the Transporter in it. There is a fourth and I'm posting the page here. It is most like a 1961 edition of Mechanix Illustrated, Popular Mechanix, or Popular Science - but it could be a different magazine or 1962 as well. See attachments below - it shows "Page 102". Anyone help here? It's a mystery to me...Thanks! Geoff

Geoff, Nice working with you on the Teardrop car yesterday. We'll get that thing put together soon. Perhaps a Degenerator thrash on one of these weekends will get it drivin around the block. :)

If Metalshapes is "Alex", he's already a good friend. Not sure he knows of my Renault Gordini stuff.

    Best..

  17. Hey Geoff,

Left a note in the 'Teardrop' Post, but I was also wondering what is the red car in your carport. I totally forgot about your earlier teardrop post sorry:eek:.

Great stuff - look forward to reading about the Covington car.

The red car is an old custom I'm restoring. My new friends off the HAMB in Tampa have been helping me with the finishing touches. Great contacts here at the HAMB. I'll post pictures soon. Here's another article on the Tiburon. I posted one earlier too - from a different magazine. Hope you enjoy. Geoff

The pics definitely show the more popular slotted mags... just wishful thinking on my part! Since you're restoring it to a later condition anyway, perhaps some artisitc license would be in order? :D

Maybe you're right. How hard is it to find the mags you posted a pix of?

That's the mag I have, let me know if you need anything else from it, I'll look for it then.

  22. There is a place, I have seen their website, that sells rare and unusual wheels. I have seen the link here on the H.A.M.B., but don't remember the name.

So the Tiburon is what? Part Porsche then? Can't quite read the article in "Excellence"...being a Porsche fan, I'd love to see more!
You've got some really neat projects Geoff......

    Hi Josh..

One of 3 special bodied Porsches built back in the day on 356 ch***is. Each Porsche built back then was a completely different body style. Of the 3 known to exist, the Tiburon is the most radical. Hydraulic lift for top, all Porsche gear, ch***is, instruments, etc. I showed it at Amelia Concours this year, and it was shown on ESPN2 recently too. Here's a link...it shows up twice in the 2 minute video:

AWESOME......thanks for the info Geoff.....never knew of such a Porsche. Are the other two accounted for?
Hey.....is that the current "Excellence" issue with the article of your car? Looks like I'm heading to the bookstore....haha..

Josh...it might still be on the newstand. Not sure. The other was a mild custom by Dean Jeffries which ironically is somewhere in Florida (I'm told). The other is the Paxton, but only used the engine/transaxel, and not the ch***is (cut from car), and all components such as the one I have. Thanks for your interest...Geoff

    Check out www.akhwheels.com

He features many wheels that are otherwise a tough find on the open market...

Out of curiosity, what's the curb weight/cargo weight on the transporter?

    IBB41...

You're the BEST! Thank you so much. This is the article that was missing that I had one page of...but could not locate.

Much appreciated and let me know when you're in Tampa Florida. I'll hook you up with the transporter directly.

    Best..
