Here are some pictures of the trunk lid of my 1950 Chevy that I got pinstriped by Charlie "One Arm Bandit" Decker this past weekend. Great guy and amazing work! I highly recommend him to anyone looking for stripe work in the North East. Thanks again Charlie.
I have seen him in action at a couple of shows. He is very talented and his talent is all the more impressive considering that he often has to contort himself to do dashboards and the like (he is truly one-armed). I have heard folks observe, though, that he is a little pricey. This was on the basis of what other car show pinstripe guys were charging for work. I don't know about that, and I would have asked him to put stripe on my car had the finish been of better quality.
He is way to damn good. I have trouble doing it with 2 arms. Would like to meet this kid and get some pointers. Any ideas for a pinstriper losing his mind? Mikey www.MikeysPinstriping.com "I do bad things to myself"
I saw him doing a bike at the Rumblers show, nice work! I've dabbled in doing some striping and you pretty much do the main work with one hand and use the other to steady and guide. But doing the other collateral crap you need BOTH. Good to see him making the best out of a bad situation. Bob
i met the one arm bandit at the nomads/rumblers show in CT this summer, he's really cool, he let me hang out and watch him stripe a 58 chevy. he did a great job, and hopefully some day he can lay some lines on one of my cars
Well God damn Chris.. the 50 looks amazing.. now you just need to drop her into the weeds. and run open hood with that white fire wall!!! Charlie, good work my friend.
Charlie is as good as they get. He's laid down some awesome lettering on three of our drag cars and did a killer pinup on the back of my dad's '55. Great prices and an awesome guy, I won't use anyone else. -Dean
