1932 Ford wheelie video...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Carbs & Chrome, Oct 16, 2008.

  1. I don't know if this has been posted before (searched and didn't see it), but I found this on Youtube:

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/63A9w8gZcLs&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/63A9w8gZcLs&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

    Kinda crazy.

hmmm. wonder what axle he as under that? if it were an aftermarket cast axle that would lay all those rumors of inferiority to rest.

  8. I searched Dennis Wile and streetfire.net says:

"Dennis Wile puts it on the bumper at Irwindale in his 1932 Ford. All steel, stock frame/suspension and SBC powered with alot left!"

I did some research on it the first time it got posted., If I remember rite, It's got a ladder bar rear suspension and it was a 10 second car for a lot of years and runs high 9's in the quarter now with the SBC. Here are some more pics from DRD57s website at a local cruise and Mooneyes Xmas Party.

The only bad part about this car is I would probably miss it at a show unless I caught the roll cage or heard it pull in

The drivers door came open during a pass at LACR years ago. Really screwed it
up. After being repaired he put safety latches on it.

  25. I have known Denny Wile since 73. To look at him, he is about the last guy you would expect to be a hardcore rodder. He lives in a 1900's house in old town Upland, and has a large old garage building in back with a pit, and an awesome car collection. In the upstairs loft there is an amazin array of flatheads, hemis, and sbc's.He has his high school 40 sedan with a 3/8 X 3/8 flathead, his dads 40 coupe with a flat head, a 354 blown hemi powered 4 speed 32 highboy, and his son's 9 second 406 SBC powered Toyota mini pick up. The wheelie coupe and mini truck both run 406 SBC's. Denny squeezes them hard with nitrous. The coupe has run 9's in the 1/4 while it is driven to and from the track. He's owned the coupe for over 30 years. Denny used to work for movie studios building back lot scenes, but now keeps busy doing engine work for customers in his garage. A nicer, more dedicated rodder you'll never meet. I will probably got to the Mooneyes Christmas deal just to watch Denny flog the coupe.

I want to see D.W. do that at MoKan next year!!!!!!

  28. Doubt you will. Denny doesn't get out much. And don't worry too much about it getting stuffed into the guard rail. It's glass. At 35+ years old, it has to be one of the first, but it's still glass.

Dude I saw that car run at the antique nats this year and it was bad ass!! Just had a little belly button small block chevy, I think it even had iron heads. In person it looks kind of plain jain from about 15 feet away, But up close it is bad ass.
