[ QUOTE ] wait i got a coupon around here somehwere... [/ QUOTE ] Maybe you are using it as a bookmark in the Mammoth Book of Rock n Roll you were looking for??? BTW...already half way through Drag Strip...cheesy as hell, but I love it Dave Have Camera, Will Travel
I love it, congrats....now go show it off to Ratboy & make him sick with envy Dave told me about that car a couple of months back, glad you got & will do something good with it.
hey deyo,i decided not to bid on that trans,i'd have to change the tailshaft to make it work,i figured i could find another closer by me.i read your PM but i didn't want to respond until i had a chance to get to the smoke shop and try some of those cigars you recommended,i'll let you know-george
the '53 Olds 303 and hydra-matic were installed around 1955,the olds rear was put in shortly thereafter because he kept snapping hudson axles.
I love the heck out of those cars. Look chopped right from the factory. A shave, dump, and custom grille does wonders for them. Nice!
Hudson step-down coupes kick ass. I love it too. BTW, I was in Iowa visiting with your 60 Olds bellhousing yesterday.[still in the car] It's very interesting. I didn't realise the tranny bolted to it has a top cover, like a 57 down pontiac/olds tranny. It may have that silly bearing retainer-in the bellhousing insanity. Can't see until the tranny is taken out.
1949 Jack Benny, "Rochester, I bought you a birthday present." Rochester, "Yeh, Boss. What did ya get me?" Benny, "I bought you something you step down into." Rochester, "Boss! You bought me a new Hudson?" Benny, "No Rochester......... I bought you a pair of shorts." This was really on TV in 49...... 1949!
[ QUOTE ] You ARE getting that thing roadworthy. [/ QUOTE ] It's 95% there anyway...... George drove it home....I saw it yesterday, its a killer car. And it just needs the brakes bleeding & the re-wire finishing. Dave
HEY Rocky! tell Denny to get off his butt and pull them parts, dangit.we could always do something like this http://www.realpinstriping.com/nascar.htm my brother just got here,we're gonna bleed the brakes and hit the City Diner cruise night.it's got headlights, taillights, and brake lights,so we're (mostly)legal.next up is the turn signals, horn, and dome lights-george

Cool packard dude. You seem to have the best of both worlds in the early stock car sense. Power of the rocket, and the handling and low CG of a hudson coupe. Yeah, and I have had that problem with breaking hudson rear ends.
Oh Yea!! - Great to see another Hudson brought home to come back to life. Heres some pics of my Hudson in progress with camaro clip 350 chev-700R automatic w/ overdrive.
