:) OK, Just got back from Columbus Ohio on my 700 mile trip to pick up the 1935 Ford "yard find". I actually got to drive it about 300 feet down the steep driveway and down the street to my trailer! I was only coasting of course, but it was still cool. Brakes worked great, emergency brake worked too. He had pulled all of the parts out of the garage and I was pleasantly surprised at what was included.

There was a newly rebuilt carb from a noted carb spe******t with a $200 price tag still attached. There was two new exterior mirrors still in the vintage boxes, a complete engine gasket set, brand new complete exhaust system, rebuilt steeing box and shaft, TWO sets of aluminum heads marked "$150 and $300" respectively, lots of new rubber, new lenses, brake hoses, spark plug wires, etc etc etc. I have not even taken inventory of all of it yet! He even supplied a treasure trove of reading material including a service manual and original parts lists. There was even a complete original tool kit still in its original bag!

One of the coolest things about the car besides it being vertually rust free and complete and 100% original is the oil change stickers in the dpoor jamb going back to 1948 do***eneting the 56,000 original miles! The engine turned ov er easily and everything looked really good. Even the seats are real nice under the sheepskin seatr covers. Anyways, glad I went and got it and I'm very happy that it will not spend another Ohio Winter outdoors. It should be easy to get it running again and I'm going to work on that all week!

    awesome... congrats. thats a SCORE!

  3. Last week when you were asking if this car was worth it?, some said no
that it was a little steep for a non-runner. Seeing the pics then and now
I say you got a bargain.

Congrats! The car looks much nicer than the pic's on the first thread. You really scored a good one there! Kenny.

Anyone that wouldn't spend 7 G's for that, has NO IDEA what these cars in that kind of shape are worth...!!!

The days of $1000 1930's drivers are long gone...

I'm going to spend the week trying to get it running and then take it to a local cruise night on Friday, hopefully under its own power. I'm not going to even wash it before I take it because I think it looks pretty cool all faded and streaked with the green stuff on it. Then after that I'll take a buffer to it. I don't think you guys are going to believe how well this thing is going to clean up! Even the original style long grain roof is perfect! It has its original tan floor mat and no rust in the floor boards at all.

Can anyone tell me anything about those aluminum heads??

Aluminum heads would have been original, frequently replaced by iron ones due to corrosion. Look into that '35-6 resto book to fully ID what's on the car and what's in the boxed by the numbers cast into the heads.

One set of the heads look used and the other set looks brand new and never bolted to a car. I'll "decode" them though and see what they are.
