I know it's a 3/4 ton, but I've got the opportunity to make an offer on this truck. Where should I come in at this?

Push button door handles and vent windows make it 52-53. 51 was the only year with pulldown handles and vent windows and 54 went to one piece windshield. Only difference I know between 52 and 53 is the door ID plate if it is still the original. 52 is black and silver. 53 is blue and silver.

Will this thing be capable of towing home future projects?

It could, but you probably wouldn't want to unless you put a small block in it. Even then it will be nice and slow.

No more that $1000 for sure. i would offer $600 and see where it goes

If you get it up in roadworthy shape it should do the job.

My 1/2 ton shortbed 50 only had one bed support on the side of the bed in front of fenders. Yours has two. I would say its a 3/4 ton longbed.

An Arizona pick up. maybe not the usual rust issues. And a five window, decent front fenders. I'd be all over it for five or six hundred.

The motor is not original, for whatever that matters. The valve cover is a '54 or later type. Check the lower corners of the cab at the back. If there is no rust there it may be a very sold cab. If they are rusty I'd try to get it for less than $500, if not it may be worth a bit more.

My early 55 had rot in the cowl/fender area, check that out. Guess 500-1,000 sounds right.

Its got a lot of decent things going for it, but I wouldn't go over $500 either. Take cash, it speaks loudly.
Actually, drive over there in a truck with a trailer AND cash. Remember, these trucks are easy to find around here, and 1/2 tons are easier to resell later, as are shortbeds.
Its nice that its got the 5 window cab, and the dash isn't cut up for a radio.

I know a guy that can rewire it and restore the gauges..........

That rear bumper looks like some disaster someone welded on to the rear fenders. Use it as a bargaining chip, if he counters with $700 or something. maybe you like it, he don't need to know. Just bitch about having to replace rear fenders, bumper and mounts (all cheap).

What part of town's it in? Maybe we can arrange something to help you get it home. I think I'm free Saturday.

if I had that truck a year ago i would have gotten $3500 -$4500 worth of ebay out of it. times have changed over there so it would not be worth so much these days.

that body looks pretty good to me. if it were mine I wouldn't take less that $2,000.00 for it. of course I wouldn't pay that much. I hate these fuckers who don't give a price. if someone told me make an offer I'd tell them $200.00 bucks. I alway figure if I don't insult the seller with my first offer I offered too much.

looks more like dirt than a lot of damage. I bet it would clean up pretty good.
