A buddy of mine had his shop broken into and 3 roadster cowls stolen. This is all they took. 3 real nice 28-9 roadster cowls. If anyone has info please let me know. He is a real nice old guy about 70, and he really didnt need this kinda ****. So if anyone is trying to move some nice roadster cowls, beware.
There's a swap meet next Sunday at Wandermere Mall. It's the first swap meet in town this year, so I'll keep an eye out there, just in case.
I hate to say it, but it sounds like someone who knew the cowls were there. Start taking a long look at people in the neighborhood and family members of friends of your buddy. Dont sound like the shop was randomly broken into and ....."HEY! 3 cowls!"
I agree, sounds like an deliberate hit on specific parts from somebody who knew they were there. Although why they would need all 3 is a bit odd and that is all they needed. Maybe somebody with a "cowl" fetish.
Yes, We realize that it looks like a deliberate job. He even has a guy in mind, but Im just putting it out there. Thanks for lookin out for us. Jim
I'm headed to the Tri-Cities swapmeet next Saturday morning and Ill keep an eye out. Any photos or descriptions available. Color of paint, distinctive marks. Also did they take any other items one should watch for?
i will keep a lookout to down here in so cal. I will check tommorow at my normail sawp and at long beach next week. Mebay they got down here.
thats a shame someone would do something like that. i hope you guys can find the gentlemens cowls for him and if you find out who did it..........****er punch them for me!!
That's ********. I think for the most part everyone likes to have an open shop door policy. ****s when someone screws you like that and you don't know who it is. I'll keep an eye out in these parts.
Ill keap an eye out on the vancouver/Portland area... but i realy think the thief is going to sit on them for acouple years and then sell. It was obviously a calculated strike but he wont have a problem holding onto them for however long it takes for people to forget. Too bad anyways, Slam.
Slamcouver is right, it looks like a planned hit, and so they will probably be hidden for awhile. By circulating the info of this theft to as many people as possible, we may come up with someone who knows the guy and realizes its best to tell the authorities. Just takes one person.
I was thinking this over, I believe if you were to price them out per the b ville catalog, the 3 cowls would easily cons***ute Grand Theft... IE if the guy gets caught he's done....
This just F-in blows. I'll keep an eye/ear out. I HATE thiefs. My worst nightmare is to come home and find the garage broken into. Jim, I hope they find the sons of *****es!
I hate to say it, but put out the word at the local s**** dealers. Those are sizeable enough where they would bring a few bucks if the guy wanted to get rid of them fast. Or felt that he had to get rid of them fast. Bob
