Well its been three years in the making and I was finally able to drive it today. It ran great, didn't overheat and nothing leaked! Brakes were a little mushy and will have to be re-bled before I really stand on it.

That is a really, really sick ride. Come park it in my driveway and leave the keys on my porch !!! I promise not to melt the tires.

Neat rod , looks like bloody good fun !

That alternator is the only thing that spoils it for me .... ever thought of tucking it inside the rail off the bottom of the motor on the other side ?

As said before, that car is awesome. It sure is a huge sigh of relief after the first drive. Nothing will ever compare to it.

As a suggestion to your alternator mounting. I put mine down low between the frame rail and motor. I had to make the lower bracket like a lollipop as I had a tab go over each stud on the oil pan and shimmed from there for the lower bolt to line up. Then run your upper mount off of your timing cover bolts. It only has about <1" of swing so I was skeptical at first as far as strength but over 1000 miles (smiles) later still working.

Thanks for the suggestion, the alternator location bugs me too. I did it so I could get on the road, with plans to fab something up later. Same with the chrome Speedway velocity stacks in the pics. I've already changed those though, I found a pair of old spun aluminum ones that I think look a heck of a lot better. I also plan on chroming the grill, I'm just a little afraid of what that's gonna cost...

That car looks too dangerous to drive on the street. I bet you wet your pants with your little pee pee too didn't you! (sic)

Seriously, It looks great out of the garage and it was awesome to see it a couple weeks ago!

Not bad for a pu**y from Long Beach!
