Final found a set of 48-52 Chevy wheels for my T bucket. 15x5 front and I am in the middle of making a set of 15x8`s for the rear.Kind of hung up on what color to paint them. The car is far from the norm that you seen on here,Ah, but I have it a number of years and have lots of fun with it. anyway, Hated the chrome wheels on it and swapping them out for steelies. Keeping the same tires and plan is just a plain wheel without any trim ring or hub cap. Just some chrome lug nuts.I thinking Red but will be too much? Black has crossed my mind. Problem is with the frame red I am limited to colors that will look right with the car. any ideas??

    48 Chevy wheels were 16". I think you mean 49-54. :D

Red would tie the wheels into the frame and engine, but if you want to do something a little different from all the black hot rods with red rims, how about white? That would set off your white pinstriping

flat black would match the rest of the car and would look sweet.

  11. A weird thought that popped into my head, but it probably ****s: red with a red and white circular checkerboard pattern out near the edge of the rim somewhere.

Maybe red with a white pinstripe, or white with a red pinstripe?

Or red with Fiesta hubcaps with checkerboard red and white on the inner part with the square pattern. Or red with baby moon hubcaps.

Red, there's a reason why it's been done so many times, it looks right, especially with the red frame. You might want to paint two black and two red and put them on opposite sides and see which you like best!

My humble opinion, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. That is a beautiful car.

Playing around by blackening the center of the wheels.

Thanks but the wheels on it now are long gone.I find that wheels like these tend to date the car and I have found that steel wheels on a hot rod are timeless. Look through any mags from the 70`s and 80`s with aftermarket wheels they tend to look out dated while a steel wheel car don`t.

You could go black and tie in the red with some detail in the centres along with spider caps?

I see only three choices: Red, Orange(the color in your flames) or Tacoma Cream.

    GaryC.

I like the Burnt Orange for something different!

I've added some black ones too!
I didn't have a wheel photo with chrome nuts...
but I'm sure you have a good imagination.

GaryC did nail it. Any chance od seeing it with black wheels without caps. My plan is for a steel wheel with lug nuts and maybe trim rings. Tring to have it so I have nothing that can fall off when I`m sliding in the dirt!!

I was gonna say cream, but it wont work on your car.

How about black with a red pinstripe on the outer rim
