Hello all sorry to be pain but was wondering if any one can help id Harman collins cam spec's number 6742 thanks much
A dial indicator, degree wheel, plywood base, couple of V-blocks (wood is ok) will tell you what you want to know. Set things up so you can read lift and duration via the dial indicator and note where the degree wheel is. Skip the .050 bit and use .000 as the point of lift to begin and end. That'll give you advertised duration which is how cams were rated back in the day.
It may be early and I have been known screw up,but cam specs are in crank degrees? I keep a motor mock up just to check cams.I know you can transfer data with math but when I did that way it confused my old brain.
there is a book that is out that has h+c specs i forget the name but they do a few buildups of flatheads
A tip I found when checking cams is to make a photo copy of yer degree wheel. You can mark the opening and closing points on it, various lift points and full lift. Its much easier for me as I can see a picture of it rather then looking at numbers.
wow thank you every one you guys are great, i will try this out and see what i get hope everyone is of to a great start in the new year
I had a list of H&C Cam specs at one time, if I can find it I will post the specs for your specific grind. ken
