Has anyone installed or grafted a visor onto a 32 coupe? 3 or 5 window. I'd like to see some pics and know what you used. Curious how it would look. OH YA, SMART ASSES, NEED NOT TO REPLY
Hmmmm...thats interesting. I DON'T think a 32 needs a visor...but i wonder did the aftermarket of the day see a need? People are slow to change and Ford suddenly NOT having the normal (as in Model A) visor they might have seen the 32 as odd without it! Wouldn't surprise me if one WAS available back when the Deuce was new... The guy doesn't need 400 posts telling him it would be dumb to screw up a Deuce though...
Cut your 32 header off and sell it to me and put a model a one on it. It will look awesome and be one of a kind.
WHY??? is the only quesion that comes to mind. why would you want to ruin one of the most beautiful cars ever made?
Well guys .. I have a guy coming next weekend with a trailer and a bag O cash to pick up my 32... Im gonna prolly have to say good bye to hot rods for while and maybe forever as this thread just scared the hell outta me .. A visor on a 32 ?????? WTF. I need another drink Dave ps: no winder Larry your in charge... Play nice
"Why ruin one of the most beautiful cars ever made?" We're talking 32 ford right? got confused, thought it might have been the Pinto... I know bad joke
I guess no one read the last line of what I posted. Anyways, I'm building a fiberglass 32 3 window coupe for a customer and he really wants a visor added to his car. I knew this is the response I would get from a bunch of closed minded old men, but I figured it's been done, so I'd like to see some pics. My customers eyes are very sensitive to the sun and he already wears perscription darkened eye glasses. He's building this car for a daily driver as he travels alot at his job. He says the sun reflects off his glasses when driving and can hardly see. I don't think this would look hiddous if it was executed correctly. Pics or suggestions please and leave your smart ass answers on someone elses thread. Thank you
Yeah where are the "build your car your way" guys I wonder about the visor's on some cars and trucks that I think were bolted on.
From the description of the customer I would question whether he should be driving at all. Apart from that, you sit a long way back from the forward roof line in and old car like a deuce than you do in a modern car, so I would have thought the need for a visor would be less of an issue, given his optical issues.
Are you refurring to the inside sunvisor for the 32 3w? It was an option on the 3W but is rare, I have a friend with one PM and I'll get a pic for you.
I am sure someone said the same thing when a kid said 'I am going to remove the fenders from my coupe', why, people would ask. Or the hideous treatment of bobbing the rear fenders. Surely someone can photoshop something up for the guy, rather than bashing him for asking a question. Im sure if he was a 'known guy', you all would getting your knee's dirty to answer his question.
I have plans of making a Model A look like a 32 sort of like Bass did with his coupe but with a 31 But Ive never thought of making a 32 look like a Model A. Honestly If I had the money to buy a 32 I wouldnt dare put a visor on it.
On a 3wd, I'd think a visor would be hard to pull off. On any of the other closed '32's it would be easier. The 3wd was a very "round" car. But, I've also wondered from time to time what a '32 truck-style visor might look like on a '32 car. Not a tacked on, Model A-looking visor, but something that was part of the roof skin. Still, I don't think it would work on a coupe at all. A sedan? Maybe..... but probably not. I'd love to see a good photoshop on a sedan though. As X38 said, a chopped 3wd with the seat pushed back is probably going to shield enough sun to make a visor unnecessary. Since this sounds like a 'glass street rod, ever thought of tinting the windshield? JH
Seriously - 32 Fords has the type of sunvisors that are in cars today - the ones inside that fold up and down. Repros are available also - I'd suggest this to him. Exterior visors are not all that beneficial; the interior ones will do a better job of blocking the sun, where it needs to be blocked.
This should work just great in a chopped coupe driving into the setting sun with a vision impaired driver, may is suggest Venetian blinds for the side windows?
Im probably going to hand make mine, now I look like a copy cat. That looks awesome and love the doors too
"closed minded old men" thats funny. You should really be asking why you want to fix what aint broke. Keep spitting up those great hot new ideas. Maybe figure out how to get a visor on my roadster for me. THAT would be innovation my young friend.
