I've been lurking on the HAMB all week. I guess now is as good a time as any to post my '62 Falcon project. When I bought the car it was in rough shape. The cluster and wiring harness were gone, every rod in the engine knocked, the transmission only pulled in low gear, the gas tank leaked like a sieve, etc. My dad adds oil to the rebuilt engine: Thats the most recent pic I could find of the engine bay, its changed a lot since then. I'm almost done with the electrical work and when all the electrical components are installed I will go back over the wiring and make it look nice.
Thanks for the kind words guys. I have been meaning to take some recent photos but the camera I have uses AA batteries and it uses them up every time I take pics. I'm still working on the engine and getting it tuned right. After I get it where I'm satisfied with it I'm thinking I'll rebuild the transmission and then refresh the suspension/steering. I'm thinking of changing everything to 5-lug and using all the stronger V8 spec parts. Lowering it about 2" all around and going with steelies and dog dish caps. There are a few other guys driving hot rods/classics I see around town that might be HAMB'ers... a '50 something Stude, a '50 Ford truck, another Falcon, a '48? Chevy, etc. I talked to the guy in the Stude at a redlight once but I've never talked to any of the others.
Finally got my original '62 horns working. Took off the covers, lubed the moving parts, sanded and adjusted the points inside them. I also got my cooling system ready for winter. Going to try to rebuild the heater box and vents tomorrow. I have heat coming from the vents but theres a cold draft coming out when the car is moving so I suspect there are bad seals inside the heater and vents.
