A buddy came over friday night and helped me get this sorted out to start up for my first time. All went very well. loud as f#$$@# I had an old mechanical oil pressure guage and no temp guage yet.

Saturday I got some "yucky new OT" guages for the temp and oil pressure.(wanted to be sure I get correct readings) I have yet to be able to find the proper senders for the 41 ford guage cluster that I have.
Got those all hooked up and working. Also got a few other little things done. I actually drove it a little in the parking lot last night, very carefully because it didnt have much brakes.

Brakes were not working well at all, so I came home and got on here to look up on adjusting the 40 ford front brakes.
Found all the info I needed with the search function (thanks again HAMB:cool:)
So back to my shop today and I adjust the brakes and get them working pretty good.
After a few adjustments and test drives in the parking lot, I got up the nerve to take it down one of the back streets.
This is the first time I have ever driven a street rod like this and it was kinda weird but badass,. I couldnt hardly see shit. Lots of blind spots all around. hahah This will take some getting used to.
Got down the street and back without any issues.
Let it cool some and then took it out again. Went down a few miles to my familys house to show my dad. Took him for a ride through the neighborhood, and also took my niece a couple blocks. Think it made their day.

I definately got to get me some baffles. also got to get the windshield cut down and then put it in the window frame. Recover the seat, after that, It is pretty much ready for inspection and to make me legal.
Here is a short video (if it works on here) and a few pics from today.

    Thanks guys.

    mottsrods,
The gas caps, I have a bunch of them left. I just have not been selling any more lately. I will eventually post some up again sometime. I've just been busy with work and working on this car.

Plans for the car right now is to drive it!! get the bugs worked out, have some fun. Then eventually take it back apart, do the body work and put some paint on it. I am thinking a med to dark flat blue and off white firewall but by the time I get around to doing that, I am sure my mind will change so who knows.

I do have a Julianos vinyl top insert kit, some new wood, window regulators, window felts, door handles, etc.. lots of new stuff that will probably eventually make it on the car.

This car has actually been chopped 2 times. It was originally built / chopped / channeled by another hamb member some years ago, sold to another hamb member that ended up taking it all back apart and chopping it more and changing the steering/brakes and some other things.
The chop I believe is around 6" total
I bought it from him unfinished right about a year ago.
It has been a good learning experience for me worth every penny.

  11. Cool car, bare bones badass. Refreshing to see one without a tractor or 32 grill shell.
