    Looks good to me...
These type cars can make some very nice customs

Here is a nice sample of a custom that is built in the Netherlands, but photos where taken in Sweden.

Looks like the most difficult way there is to chop a Buick,
never seen it done that way.

If you don't keep the sweep and curve around the rear window/C-pillar area of the un-chopped car, (like the Swedish car did), you have wasted a great car. But I guess you can always paint it flat black and put red wheels on it. I like the blue and white car. Hope yours has a chance. Another great intro.

thanks for all your feedback. i had to do something with the rear window, because i want it to sled back more then normal, so im taking some of the bubble out and i rolled the glass down and forward. i dont have any chrome for the car, i have some for the front window but nothing for the rear or the sides, so il going to smooth out around the rear, itll have nice flow and round curves, and yes itll be flat black, but im thinkin gloss black rims.... lol thanks and ill keep the pics coming.

Don't do it man.. give it some color... maybe a flattened single stage in blue if you want a satin finish...

I really love this car..takes lots of skill and dedication to chop a 4 door...especially a mid50's hardtop!! Keep posting some pics of your project as you go.

im going to make a custom 2x2 intake, and i got 2 origional carter 2 barrels with the car, so im going to fix em up and use them. the dash is out and i dont have anything for it, i have the long chrome trim and the cluster, no grill, no shitches, nothing. so i have a grill out of something else, thats pretty close to the origional one and im going to put it in that dash. im going to try to make it all look factory. unless i can find some of the dash parts thats what i got. this guy i got the car from has another one, but its a special, he has the 4 port hole fenders off this car on that one, and that cars all comeplete to the white walls. so once i got this one down im going to buy that one and make do it all over again. but ill have done it once allready. something to look forward to i guess.....

cool car, what did you do to the back, put a longer trunk on it? i like that roof style, you dont happen to have any dash parts around for the 56. or maybe grill parts?

  27. What'd you do, land something someone else used for a parts car there? I have one of those too, a '57 Pontiac 4dr sedan. '56 Buick parts aren't too hard to score, watch eBay.

look at the whole album i have and you'll see what i had to do to make it all work, i used the whole roof and deck lid from a donor 57 buick century. i had to extend the 56 buick quarter panels 3.5 inches to make it all work. i really wish i knew how to post pictures, is there a thread to tell you how?

ill take a look, it looks like theres a insert image box above this little message box. its little square box with a mountain in it. i think thats how you upload the pics. somebody had 2 of these cars, and he took this one all apart and put the good parts of this other buick, when i got the car i thaught most the parts were in it but it turns out those parts arnt to this car, its for a 54 chevy or something close. so it is what it is. i might pick up that other buick though after im done hacking this one.

  30. "quick and dirty?" ehh might be a bit to drastic in my opinion, but seems to be decent work. i would think about tackling 4-2 door conversions before getting into completly chopping the buick as a 4 door. i dont think this year looks to hot as a chopped 4door.
