History FED....... What part was commonly used?

    Okay graybeards, this question may be easy for some of you.

    Thought I would asked this question in honor of my 50th. post.:D

    What part/parts from a volkswagon bug was commonly used on front engine dragsters in the 1960's and early 1970's? Almost all FEDs from that period used this/these.

    First correct answer wins you a place in the old farts club. If there is not one already maybe we should start one. :eek:

    Yep, you guys are fast and good. Most people would never think a VW part was used on a dragster. Glad I'm not the only old fart on the HAMB.

    Just when did that trend start? My Lyndwood was built in 1959 and has a leaf spring and friction shocks.

    Fuller also drove a volks everyday as well. He also built the first volks rod as well. So did alot of ch***is builders. Shoemaker also drove volks as well.

    I've owned a few FED's that utilized VW clutch pedals as well.
