Just dragged this piece home for the grand old sum of "clean out my shed". No floors, no rockers, no frame, no ***le, etc...but I couldn't argue with the price. Came with a pair of doors, hood, and f/r fenders. It's all rough, but well worth a few hours of work! Wish it had been stored in the shed instead of the middle of a cotton field, but hey - its salvageable! Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. I have to get my '40 Plymouth running so I can move it out to get the Pontiac into the garage...hopefully before my wife and neighbors get tired of looking at it in the yard. Any ideas for direction are welcome...gotta be low buck though! I'll need to find a frame, but I do have a good running small block ford as well as a good C4 auto and a good 5 speed manual trans that could go in it.

Cool. I just had a customer of mine bring in a '39 sedan in the last week. It was a pretty neat gold two door. I'd never really given one a good close look before- it was a really nice car. The guy picked it up for a song too- it pays to shop outside of the Ford family sometimes...

If I were in your situation I'd have brought it home too.:D

  5. I often see this daily driven 37 or 38 4dr around town, never spoken to the owner but I know it gets used. When I was a kid my Father built a nice 39 Pontiac 2dr sedan with a GM subframe and chrysler 383, this was our family rod for many years and probably the reason I am into cars today. We did thousands and thousands of summer vacation miles in that car. When my Father was building his Pontiac he a had a good friend whom built a 38 coupe with a chrysler 440 and stock front susp. I remember it being a real tire smoker...
