I am looking for some History on a the 1930 Chevy Roadster Pickup. A friend of my dad's is wanting to sell this 1930 Chevy Roadster pickup that has been same Familly owned since the late 1930's when it was bought at a US Customs auction. It was used for a few years and it is complete and very solid with an old Texas title. The truck is complete but apart, it was taken apart in the 1960's. <p><center><A href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/meglite/53caddylimo039.jpg?vvid=6575871" target='_blank'><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to View Image Album</font></A></center><br><br> <center><A href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/meglite/53caddylimo037.jpg?vvid=6575871" target='_blank'><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to View Image Album</font></A></center><br><br> <center><A href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/meglite/53caddylimo036.jpg?vvid=6575871" target='_blank'><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to View Image Album</font></A></center><br><br> <center><A href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/meglite/53caddylimo035.jpg?vvid=6575871" target='_blank'><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to View Image Album</font></A></center><br><br> <center><A href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/meglite/53caddylimo033.jpg?vvid=6575871" target='_blank'><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to View Image Album</font></A></center><br><br> <center><A href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/meglite/53caddylimo031.jpg?vvid=6575871" target='_blank'><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to View Image Album</font></A></center><br><br> <center><A href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/meglite/53caddylimo030.jpg?vvid=6575871" target='_blank'><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to View Image Album</font></A></center><br><br> <center><A href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/meglite/53caddylimo029.jpg?vvid=6575871" target='_blank'><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to View Image Album</font></A></center><br><br> <center><A href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/meglite/53caddylimo025.jpg?vvid=6575871" target='_blank'><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to View Image Album</font></A></center><br><br> <center><A href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/meglite/53caddylimo027.jpg?vvid=6575871" target='_blank'><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to View Image Album</font></A></center><br><br> <br><center><img alt="Smart Services for Smart Sellers" src="http://imagehost.vendio.com/img/header/logo/vendiologo88x31.gif" border=0><br> <br><a href="http://www.vendio.com/bin/ref.x/1803500154"><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2" color="#3366cc"><b>More than just a pretty picture. Well said. And if I'm reading the Odometer right I think it says 5k miles? Thing about cars is that most of the ones that made history were driven. I can tell you nearly for certain that it IS a 1930 based on the body lines, but the missing beltline detail across the back panel seems wrong. The grill shell is off a passenger car, the radiator is a wrong size modern replacement. I've only got one picture of a restored car and the bed looks nothing like that but then the caption does say "Chevrolet did not make the pickup bed, so there is some variation in the design of these". 1930 was the first year for an actual roadster pickup, before that they were a bed scabbed into the trunk opening. Interesting fact that the top is fixed and does not fold. History, probably not. Hot Rod, hell yes, it's cool as hell.
So you need the first 7-8 years of it's life? If the US Customs sold it, it may have belonged to them and been surplus, or it may have belonged to someone who didn't pay a duty on it importing it back to the US... probably the only way to know involves records that were thrown in a dump or recycled in WWII.
