Cool car! And well worth the effort to obtain it through the proper channels. Check the county records on who owns the land. Who knows? You may get it free WITH a title that way.

What happened to the interior? That Mustang stuff isn't an improvement in my eyes. But to each his own.

on page 4 I'm going to ask if you ever contacted the owner to see if it was ok to take.

Read the whole thing. Then post.

    Neat ride. :)

Problem is these questions DO come up here way to often.
I have an ex Brother-in-law that thinks if something is sitting along the side of the road past three days it's his.
Even if nobody has set foot on a piece of property in a hundred years it is "Owened" by some-one, may be the Gubment but it is owened.

Push the beast outside and take a photo of it. This could be our next art challenge.

Don't look much like a custom to me. Looks pretty much stock with a tonneau cover over the rear seat. Those tonneau's were fairly popular back then but it ain't custom. Car looks like a project in storage, not an abandoned car.

  19. Make out a check in the owner's name to your favorite charity, then take it. $20,000 should cover it...!

Yes, I got it. Why did I even bump this???????

first off - it isn't an 'old custom' - it's a T-bird Sports Roadster (the "parade tonneau" is the tipoff). Appears to me that somebody is just restoring it - I don't see any "custom" features at all. Either this is (as alread suggested) just a bunch of hooey, or you're going to wind up incarcerated. Just because somebody isn't standing next to a car does NOT mean it's abandoned. If you don't have a deed to the dirt that structure is on, you're trespassing. Your first step needs to be contacting the assessor's office and find out who actually owns the property. Then you can work your way into acquiring the car(s). Never pass up a chance to do the right thing.

I think you're lucky you aren't already picking rock salt out of your fanny right now.

"Your number one option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation" - if that doesn't work - be very very fast on the draw.

Sorry SOCAL Pete, you're wrong :D. This is a '59, a coupe (actually, all 'Birds started as convert bodies, the coupe tops are spotwelded to the convert w/s frame and wheelwells) with the top sawzall'd off, but it does have '62 convert top that folds into the trunk now! It IS a two seater tho!

What is scary/sad is the number of folks that thought it was OK to haul it off!?:( I hope none of those folks live in my area. (I'm not talking about those that were saying why not pick up the new welder, too, and the clean convertible, etc, that obviously got the joke.)
