I know it's a strange advise request, but I'm thinking about selling this engine, but I'm starting to wonder if I should. It's a 41 buick straight 8 that has been rebuilt/ restored/ completely. I acquired it in a deal a while back. I was planning on putting it in my 47 Buick, but I think that is a pipe dream now. My question is, should I sell this thing in order to finance my other projects, or hang on to it in hopes of using it down the road. (It would be a really long time).I could really use the money to finance the other builds, but I'm never going to get what I think it's worth, and regret it. Any advise is appreciated.
KEEP IT unless you really need the dough. I run across a lot of Buick 8's but they're always in pieces or haven't ran in a million years. Not sure how much you have wrapped up in that... but in that condition it would be hard to replace when you REALLY want it. Now go pull that hideous garbage off the upper radiator hose!
I agree with CJ. Its not often you come across a buick straight 8. And its really rare to see one that nice. Unless it is completely in your way and you know for sure you wouldnt miss it once it was gone then you should keep it around for a that dream down the road. for now you can just use as a really fancy coat rack.
