I worked on a chevy a few years back that had what looked to be compression fittings on the radiator hoses and was wondering if anyone would happen to know where I could find some. They didnt have a hose clamp or anything like that just a big hex nut holding it on(not AN hose). They looked pretty trick but I cant seem to find anything. Possibly Im just calling it the wrong thing when I google it but Id really like to get my hands on a few.

could have been a sleeve hiding the clamp underneath...

The shrink tube type of hose clamp should be available through NAPA or any of the other parts stores.

I believe they were oem on some GM's.

Most NAPA parts stores carry the shrink tube type hose clamps, can't help with the "NUT" style.

The nut is usually just a nut shaped cover that clips on over a standard worm-gear hose clamp.

Ususally you find these on braided covers for mullet-machine cars.

    Looks like this: [IMG]

Should be available at any parts store.

nah it wasnt the gates shrink tube clamp or a beauty cover. It looked like the beauty cover but it was an actual fitting. Looks like an industrial plumbing fitting and was stainless steel. I for the life of me cant figure out what the hell its called though.

aeroquip makes hoses with ends that you can put on or remove that use a compression fitting or somethin really similar, but thats to attach the end to the hose, i'm not sure how many options they offer for the other end. maybe it's something like that.

nope not a t-bolt clamp or any other hose clamp. It looked like the spectre fitting but it screwed together on to the radiator neck and clamped in down like a compression fitting. I want to say it looks like a fitting the water company would use on a water main. I wish I woulda asked the guy where he came up with it and being that he was a contracter Im fairly confident it was used in the construction industry. I just remember it because I had never seen anything like it and was rather unique.

You mean Swageloc fittings? They do make huge ones, I've got a couple of 2 inchers at work we keep around as paperweights. They're so big they almost look like novelty items compared to the little ones used on instrumentation and small diameter tubing. I can't imagine anybody going through the trouble of retrofitting a radiator to use them....way, WAY expensive.

I might actually have some of them left over. PM me with the hose size you need and I'll look.
