Ok so My rear end took a dump in my deluxe fastback, and the spare I have has a back pinion seal and doesnt sound to helthy either, I was wondering if anyone has used a different rear end in theres yet. Only reason I ask is becuase parts have become a royal pain in the *** and upgrading to something better would be fantastic. So any helpful info would be greatly appreciated, Im me or just type it in here. Thanks to everyone.

Lots a choices MOPAR 8 3/4, Jeep cherokee, Chrysler B body, ford ranger / explorer.

Dodge light duty pickups and vans,

You will need to relocate the spring perches and redo the drive shaft. I believe your axle is between 58 and 59 inched wide, just find one that measures up.

Maveric 8 inch fits like a kit, even gives you some extra wheel well clearance.

I put a 62 meteor rearend in my 50 plymouth business coupe it gave me an extra 1/2" clearance on both sides and it's the same pattern.

You need to modify the drive shaft so it will mate to the newer style rear U joint.

Or have a whole new shaft made. The old cross and ball or cross and roller rear joint will not match a more modern diffy.

Figure this is a longshot since this is an old post.... But would you be able to answer some questions about the meteor swap?
