A few years back I ran into Chuck Finders Jr. at the SandSport Show and he was building long travel sand cars, I believe in Tucson. Since I raced at Lions when (much) younger, we got talking about his Dad's g***ers and he mentioned he was trying to gather pictures of Sr's cars. I just ran across another 8X10 of the Hirshfield Automotive '33 and they're hooking up a tow bar behind a 54? Olds convert. Anybody know where I can contact Jr.?
That was the shop number. I think Sr may have had his number changed since moving the shop. I've got his cell number if you can't reach him at that number. PM me if you need it. If all else fails I can stop by Chuck Sr's house and get Jr's contact info for you, he only lives a couple blocks from me.
You can find me "Jr" at finders-fabrication.com Thanks for remembering our meeting at the Sand Sports Super Show. Yes I'm still building. I recently delivered a Race Car to the San Diego Police Dept to be used in their "Dare" Program. I'm finishing up my Sand Rail then on to my 33 Willys, I'm collecting parts for it right now. If you still have that photo I would love to add it to my dad's History page on my web site, I'm still looking for all and any Photos I can on any cars he built and or raced, Check out tthe history section on my website.
