  2. Hi mate . i have a similar idea floating around in my head . but using a inter coupe Ute body . easier using a Ute body than a sedan . i also was looking at a fj rear but I'm keeping a eye out on eBay . and when i work out bush for something more suitable . but i will more than likely fabricate the rear myself. ill keep a eye out for your posts

  5. Welcome, Can you still dump cars alongside the road in Queensland ? Why not make a BBQ from the front half of the FJ ?

Hello there Owen, or is it Ned?

    Been faking terminal ilness/death lately?

  7. Welcome!

Everyone else is being nicey pie so I'll be the bad cop and point out that this is not a rat rod site.

And you others, how about doing more than just putting 'Australia' for your location. There are a lot of us here and it helps us to know.

Welcome. I have no comment on how the rear of an FJ might mate to a Plymouth but I have a suggestion. Bring the whole car home. I think you're going to need a lot of compound curved filler panels and the rest of that car sure has lots of them. You could probably make you $1000 back selling what's left too.

As X38 says. We don't do Rat Rods. Search those two words and you'll soon get the picture.

  10. i would have dragged the whole body home and swapped what you don't need for a carton of coopers pale ale. rather than dump it .

A rat rod is a rat rod no matter what country you are in. They may have a little more engineering in them here but there still a worthless POS.
Do yourself a favour, build a hot rod. Do some research, learn a little more.

    Welcome 39 Plymouth.
Everyone may have their own oppinion, but it'd pay to take on X38 and DocWatson's suggestions in this case (for your happy HAMB life).

I don't think that anyone's against you building your car your way, just this might not be the "place" for that specific type of car.
    Good luck.:)

  17. Guys i think thats a bit harsh....isn't this web site for people who love car. Im sure we would all love to have a show winning Hotrod or even a clean hotrod for that matter but that is not in every one grasp. Also im sure there are a lot of ratrod cars that will get to Hotrod statists one day. i think if cars and hotrod kulture runs through their veins then they are in the right place.

  18. This site is for traditional hot rods and customs. It has a particular focus, as in how things were up to 64. People are free to do what they want and enjoy themselves, but for this site the dog at a cat show argument applies.

And for the record, just because something is painted in primer and is unfinished, it isn't a rat rod. It's just in primer or unfinished.

  19. Maybe you should change the words rat rod for hot rod and people wont crack the shits. welcome to the HAMB

oh yeah from another fellow aussi welcome to the hamb hope you learn a few things.

  25. please fuel an argument..define a rat rod..tradition was never like that ...how old are you guys..

  26. Hey there, I'm thinking the whole car seems like a good project, plenty of custom rodder-fications possible and at least you're not notching the chassis and fitting airbags, just joking, hope it all comes together and looks the goods.. just for the record I'm not that into the rat rod scene, however there is always some good in something with wheels and a motor that is built with passion.. for many people a rat rod is a gateway rod, the one they build that gets them into the whole rodding scene.. and besides the photos and story don't really seem to add up to a rat rod, seems like far too much work in it for it to be 'just' a rat rod.. cheers crew

  30. Got any more pic,s of that Topolino ? Here,s one of mine , a 1950/ 1953 model. I can,t see a Morris Minor panel on the red one. Either they did a lot of panel work or they were pulling your leg.
