WHY? Because the 37-38 Chevy Coupes are in the top 3 favorite Chevys of all time, that's why!
A 2-year production run with no loss of marketability ever ever.

  5. good luck!!!! I got a rust free p***enger side one in the attic... and I'm holding on to it. With my luck I'd sell it and BAM!!!! I would need it:D

We had a 38 sedan when i was a kid in the 70's, we figured parts were hard to get 'cause chevy had a union strike in 1938 so there werent many spare parts around, my guess

Parts for any given popular production car are "rare" in some areas and plentiful in others. Of course in the Rust Belt anything older than 2007 can be rare, but down South and out West the stuff is much more available. Too bad the price of s**** iron and steel is so high 'cause stashes behind old filling stations and service garages and along farmer's fence lines are being crushed every day.
My uncle in northern Alabam was clearing some property and found a service garage or neighborhood junkpile under a stand of small trees. Nothing really saveable he said but obviously old old car and tractor parts. The guy down the road came over and dug it all out for free and hauled it to the metal yard. Uncle was very happy to get the ground back to level again.

Can't you just stretch a pair of 4 door sedan front doors? Or use 2 door sedan doors? Sure, they'd have to be modified, but I've seen it done on Ford coupes and Willys and stuff like that. If you're that despirate I think it could be done.

I used to have a source for a whole pile of sedan doors but he moved back to Indiana after a tornado came through his town. :( He had tons of Sedan parts but not any coupe parts, they must be harder to come by at least around here they are.

I'm trying to score you a free pair of 2 door sedan doors today. If I can swing it I'll have them on the trailer to you tomorrow. May work, may not, but at least you'll be able to give it a shot. I'm trying to get ahold of the guy now to see if he will let me swing by and take them.

2 door sedan and coupe doors are completely different...

But since I've seen some amazing feats of fabrication here... I'm sure someone could tell you how to convert 'em.
