Need a little input please. I've seen people ask all kinds of questions out here and if you can take a little heat you can get some great advice from some very smart people.

Here's the deal. The 57 Nomad was taken apart and the body shell sanblasted and primed with new floor pans. A Brand new Paul Newman Ch***is with new late model corvette suspension front and rear was installed with Newman suspension parts, rebuilt rack, new shocks, etc. A used (good) corvette LT1 engine and trans was dropped in the frame and bolted up. The body was put back on the new ch***is. Car is an 8 out of 10 as far as rust and strightness goes, it needs some work but not any of the hard stuff. Has new floors already in the body. Comes with a lot of the rest of the parts but it is missing gl***, some trim and interior. A lof of the stuff/parts are the kind that you replace anyway like headlight bezels, grille, bumpers etc.

Is something like this worth $10,000? The frame was supposedly $15K without the engine, Sandblasting was another grand.

as long as its not going to kill you to put another ten/fifteen in ..you could have a fifty grand car prettty cheap if you do it properly and frugally..

it is very much worth 10k, ***embled and painted could bring 5x that

Nomads are not super common and expensive

then all of the expensive popular items, aftermarket ch***is with corvette suspension and an LS1

even if its something that isnt your style or preference, there would be a good amount of money to be had in flipping it or building and selling it

As stated above you have lots more $$$ to finish up to $20,000.00 if you do not "go wild", with high $$ paint etc.

No question about it, yes it's worth 10K...
As Slammed said, roaches go for more than that...
Gl*** is not cheap, but overall the cost of that may not be as hard a hit is the car is what you say...
IF i had the cash and was in your shoes i'd step right up.
The ch***is does nothing for me, BUT, if you feel the same way and it's worth a lot of coin you could probably sell that, recoop some of you money (if not most if they go for that much new)...get yourself a stock one and be way ahead of the game...like own the car for next to nothing and start from there..
That's just my personal thought's though....

I still wouldn't let it slip away if you dig Nomads..

You will put another 20 in it but you will have a 50-60 k car. Sounds like a deal if all the Nomad specific trim is there, in good shape, and you like 57s and thats what you want.

    It is easily worth that.
Are all the trim, gl***, and seats with it?

    Question:
I can get a $15k frame for $10k with an almost complete Nomad thrown into the deal for free... Is it a good deal?

It's a streetrod, so in order to turn a profit, you will have to spend some serious bucks, and hope it pays off.

A Nomad is worth some coin, but what you're buying is a Nomad body to put on a rod-frame.

IMO, kind of a gamble, unless you have enough stuff there to just put labor into it and get it rolling/running.

    Edit:

I'm not saying it's not worth it, just have to look at the end result of what you want, or intend to do with it...and the ***ociated costs.

Here is a link to a few pics of the car. Just scroll down a little to see them. The parts are not shown in the pics. No gl*** with it and no seats. Most of the trim and stainless is with it and decent doors, usable fenders and a decent hood and tailgate.

You can buy brand new gl***, all ten pieces, for under $2,000

H & H Cl***ic (www.hhcl***ic.com) for example, has windshields for $205 plus $100 freight. Vent gl*** is $40 each, Door gl*** is $55 each, Slider gl*** is $55 each, Rear curved gl*** is $295 each plus $100 freight each, Liftgate gl*** is $295. Cheap and pretty cool that Nomad gl*** is no longer a problem. I have repro windshield in my Nomad and it is a nice piece.

Thats a pretty good deal. Grab it and put it together with some nice steelies and bias plies. It'll look bad *** and drive like abrand new car. plus it'll be worth way more than you put in.

Sounds like a fair deal, altho that appears to be a LT1 not an LS1. Friend of mine bought a driver 55 Nomad thats in primer but needs floors and some other fairly big work but its complete for 10 grand.

    i agree thats an LT-1

you wouldnt really need to put much into it to make money, i say if you dont want to build it for your self, put the body on the ch***is get it bolted down get the gaps decent and then sell it, you would still make enough money to make it worth it

If you do get the car and end up needing some of the Nomad specific SS parts, PM me I may have what you need or have access to it.

a long as the nomad only parts were there in good condition. you can always find a stock ch***is as they are pretty much the same 55'-57' and keep the ch***is for yourself. its gonna be harder to sell this week even if it's a nomad. won't say that you can't live in a "nomad" but it sure gets cramped fast!

I think its worth it, but as others have said make sure you are getting the Nomad specific parts. I know I have at least that much in my 56, and its almost as far along as the Nomad. I am using the stock frame though.

I'm going over today to inventory the parts to see what is there. I'll take more pics. I know that the owner planned on making this car a very expensive show car and has about $25,000 into it already no including the cost of the car itself. (He's a checkbook rodder) So he planned on replacing everything, like the gl***, with new stuff so he dumped some of the old parts like the gl*** and bumpers before he brought it to the shop.

There were a few Newman equipped 567 2 dr. HT's( and I hate the term "Resto Mods") that sold at Barrett-Jackson's Vegas auction well in the 6 figure range.
So they do have potential, but as a HAMB'er I doubt you would be interested in that type of build. It may be worth your while to take it to roller bare metal stage, then sell.

Here are a couple of pics of my 'Old' 57 Nomad that I found for sale on Craigslist by accident a few months ago. It still had the same Lic plate TJW722, Cali.

I sold it back in 1968 and the kids who bought it totaled it out a few weeks later, 'T' boned. They bought a 56 and were attempting to make a whole car. No Go. A friend of mine Al Cost bought it and as he owned a body shop put it back together but painted it Rootbeer metalic. UGLY ! Well iot disappeared for forty years and then I saw that ugly color car again. The guy stated he didn't even know if it ran as he bought it in a package deal with a few other cars. He would sell to me for $18,000;) as I was the previous owner.
The wife said to buy it back so I went out and bought a 46 Ford Tudor instead. Why? I had already owned it once,:D.

Well, I went and pulled the trigger and bought it. It has most of the trim and what's not there you'd buy new anyway if you were doing it right. The rare Nomad only rear bumper, tailgate, rear hatch, rear seat, headliner bows and lots of other parts are with the car. It has had new floors put in it real well along with new quarters and it's solid now. Hood is nice as is the tailgate. I'll snap some pics when I get it home and bolted together.
