I just bought this body on e bay as the start of a rod project. It was advertised as a 1919- Pop says it's more like a 1923- opinions?

I'm guessing with your Dad, definately before '24. I'd think '22 or '23.

looks like a '23...has the "coupe pillar" at the leading edge of the front door...similar to a '28 / '29 Ford.

  7. That will make a very cool rod. There is a guy near you with a restored Dodge Brothers touring car about the same vintage. I saw it at Parks Performance Machine Shop in Biscoe. PM me if you want a contact #.

I have a cabin in the Uhwarrie NF near Troy, NC. and I'll be up there in a week or 2.

There is a guy in Albemarle who is the Old Hemi expert. He converts the old injectors to EFI.

Good luck on your build and post pictures.

From all my studying it looks to be a 1919 Dodge Brothers Model 3. Don't ask me what that name entails cause I don't know, but the window pillars are different from the regular touring cars and roadsters.

Are you going to chop the roof off and make it a touring?

I don't think its the 1919 Model 3- look at the curve of the cowl and front door at the bottom vs. what I have. I'm either going to remove the posts to make a touring, or, chop them short at a rake, retain the window frames, and use a soft top, ala touring type top, higher at the back, low at the front. Not sure yet. Gonna go with a 270 red ram hemi I have, 4 spd od , 8.75 rear. Not sure on suspension yet.

Hard to say, 19' was the first year they introduced the enclosed sedan. I'm guessing that's what the Model 3 means... So, looks like 1919 or later. Cool body and gonna make a neat project.

That's a 1920 Ford model T center door. the owner , Miguel, is sitting on the tire in the left of the picture.

  14. Definately a '23 . The chains on the dash pretty much comfirm that . Before '22 Dodge used cables .

What does your ***le say? Once you find a ***le for sale in that range of years, Buy it, then you put the VIN on the body that matches your ***le, then that is what year the car is (will be).

Case Solved, what do I win?

  16. What years were the "X" firewall? I found one out in a field at my wife's uncles, and subseqently ditched the cowl, but still have the firewall. I'd like to find a cowl someday to build a car with, and would like to know what year to look for.
    Thanks!
