I might be getting a 41 dodge 2dr sedan. It is baisicly stock Redone interior (close to stock) flathead 6 and 3 on the tree. I have been doing a few drawings and this one stuck out. I know I'm not as good as some of you guys, but I learned drawing from doodling when I was in school. Here is the idea, Un-chopped, slightly lowered, 15" black steel rims with trim rings and chrome nuts, blackwalls, original patina'd black paint (not rat-roddish, it still looks decent) stock drivetrain, loose alot of the trim/emblems, and the bumpers. My question is what era would this fall into, and if you guys have any input. Thanks.
Should work out nice - you generally can´t miss with black, though I wonder if WWWs and caps would be a good idea. Might make it look a bit more "sharp" if you know what I mean. Have a photo of it?
I dont have a photo right now, I'm not a big fan of white walls, I'm just wandering, what era in hot rodding would you see the "blacked out" look. I know a big car like this leans more towards a kustom, And with the emblems and bumpers gone, Its going to be like a mild custom, but I'm just burnt out on WW's and caps.
Resto-rod era...mid 70's...or...if you prefer --today's era of patina, flat black, stock wheels and no body mods... R-
Then I would say todays era, if you really need to pick one. I´ve never been a fan of black rims and no caps. Its OK on a truck I guess, but it just looks unfinished to me - or a bit NASCAR to tell the truth. Just IMHO mind you.
