My Father ran a 55 T bird in stock class at Howland drag raceway in ohio in the early 60's
(Mom ran one too for a short time)

While looking through the thread " Drag cars in motion" I spotted a familiar image. I had not seen a photo of my father racing, only posed shots of the car.

I sent him a copy of the photo and his response was "where did you get that pic of me?" He was so excited that he showed up at my shop the following day with an old album! just as I thought it was the same car!

Thanks LSGUN for posting the pic and making his day! Mine too!

    Dave

Man, it's always great to see pictures of that time. No matter how grainy they can be.

That is cool. Looks like he got the jump in that race too. Must have known what he was doing. I like it minus the wheel caps. That other car is pretty damn cool too.

Now don't tell me he still has the car? If so, let's see some shots or at least some more shots out of that album.

Did he have a blower on the T-bird?

Hubcaps were always removed when racing, it was a safety madate. No blower on that one just 312 4 barrel with a ram air arrangement.

That Bird was sold to a GI while at Fort Cambell in Kentucky (101st Airborne). who knows what happened to it, hell maybe it sold for huge $$$$$$$ on Barret Jackass!

Here is a pic from last summer, Dad is still doing Birds and Vettes,

and sure has a thing for that color!!!!!!!!!!
